I have mostly been riding my bike in between the rubbish weather.

Just put a new chain and sprocket kit on the Viffer, and had new oil filters and plugs.

Now going to fit smaller indicators as the std ones are nackered and drooping. apparently my bike looks sad going along the road LOL.

Went out on my own only did just over 100 miles but was enough to get out and clear my head for a bit.

My last 2 bikes -

GSF400 completely rebuilt and repainted from a pile of parts -

I'm all up for the wet weather, sadly I don't have the money for the gear after fixing my car :(

In the mean time, my commuter hack Yamaha Diversion stays in my dads garage. I did the oil, got some mirrors, new fuel tap (the key had snapped off in the old one), and changed the headlight lens. Just got to fit the new chain + sprockets and it'll go off for MOT. Then paper work (it's still on Portuguese plates), some summer boots and trousers, insurance and I'm finally ready to go.

I'm really look forward to it, never ridden anything bigger than a 125, and not ridden my 125 since it stopped working reliably. I do intend to fix it though, I hope we have some 2 stroke experts in the house when I do get back to it again ;)

Learner biker here :)

Currently waiting for my CBF125 to be argued about with insurance people (van reversed into me recently). That said, BLD delivered me a year old YBR125 a few days later, so I've been commuting on that. I'm surprised at how completely different it is, I was going to do a comparison write-up at some point but don't know how useful people would find it.

Will do my DAS in the summer and then onto a Hornet. Possibly...

Only been out on mine twice since the "proper" cold snap.
Back under cover for the moment, the roads in Derby are crap!! Bloody great potholes everywhere, the council needs it's ass kicking.
I'm getting ready for the spring, then a good (hopefully) summer.
Couple of lads at my place of work have passed their tests as well, so there will be a fair few of us now.:p

My biking calendar is filling up a bit this year......

I've ordered some made to measure leathers from Scott Leathers which are due to arrive in a couple of weeks, as well as some custom earplugs which should be with me in a week or so.

I'm booked for Rockingham national on the 30th May :)

I'm booked for the Mugello Moto GP (on my birthday :D)

I'm booked with the CSS to do level 2 at Silverstone in July.

I'm booked to go to Le Mans for a track day in August.

I still need to get my motocross gear / supermoto gear then green laning can commence (I'll need a 2nd set of wheels for knobblies on the SM though).

Shaping up nicely I think :)

I fired mine up on Sunday, started like a dream despite 4 months under a cover in the garden, she's a good old girl :)

Skimping and saving for a new one this summer, I reckon I can do it by May!

I've done the national before (CSS Level 1), I'm going with my brother and sister (her first track day ever).

Overall it's not a massively fast track (unlike the international which incorporates the banked outside behind the pits).

The track layout is clockwise, out of pits -> Shallow right -> Small chicane which can be almost straightlined -> 2 shallow rights which can be joined together to make a single double apex bend -> uphill 90 degree right leading to a crest ->just over the crest a blind 90 degree right followed by a very long sweeping left -> 100 degree left -> short drag and then a right hairpin and back onto the start / finish straight.

It's a very short track with quite a few turns, unfortunately a bit featureless which can be disorienting, I ended up using the rumble strips as my markers.

All in all quite a fun track, but not really one for speed freaks and straight line warriors :) Defintely a good one for a starter IMO.

As a side note I'd love to get out at Donnington Park again this year, but it doesn't look likely :(

Got a 09 YBR125, had it since my 17th birthday in March last year, only covered 3500 miles since :(. Just due for its first service now, which is useful as I'm gonna be riding it more soon.

Done my theory for bike test, need to book Mod 1 and 2 now. Still undecided whether to have a lesson before my Mod 1 or just dive straight into the test, any ideas?

Once passed, hopefully getting on a 400, or I might just keep my 125 insured at home whilst I'm at uni to build up my no claims, so I will then have 2 year NCB which will help when getting a bigger bike when starting my second year at uni, when I will be able to store the bike at my house at uni.

Sounds interesting though, ive only ever done the anticlockwise track and loved it :D theres an awesome left hander which goes up and down and if you get it right you can be on the inside of people 90+ near enough dragging your elbow :D
Im not much for straight line either, think you get maybe 140 on my 750 down the banked straight on the international, chicane at the end is more fun!
Yea im gutted about Donnington too, I was hoping to maybe go back before they changed it last year but my accident got in the way..

I still am tempted by a satnav and if you really think it aint dangerous to have one then i really need to think about it. Maybe if i hold off on getting one for a couple months and just concentrate on getting used to my new bike then ill treat myself.

So the TomTom Rider pretty good then?

I used the Garmin sat-nav with an Autocom for a couple of years. Absolutely flawless and in no way dangerous. Bloody expensive though :p
