Bikers Youtube thread

What is this clean you speak of? I'm starting to wonder if there's still actually a bike under all my muck.

Does anyone realistically have a bike this clean after 3 months riding?!

Mine just about gets that dirty just wheeling it outside & I use FS365!

Yeh I watched this earlier, that looks like a morning commutes worth of dirt, not 3 months!

Anything that you can do to keep the front discs from rusting up?

Even a little bit of rust really annoys me, must be ocd

Ride it more :p

I suppose you could really carefully apply some ACF50 to the 'sides' (I assume that's where you're getting rust?).

Edit: sides as in edges, not the surface of the disk.

Yep, ride it more or fit a set of stainless steel discs (or carbon if you're minted - but then they don't stop in the cold), don't put ANY lubricant near the brakes!

Hopefully I will with this new job :p

Yeah, it's not the actual disc, it's around it, and near the disc buttons too.. not a lot, but still.

Was thinking about using some wax carefully as it won't just go away after 1 wash.

Going to get the bike booked into triumph for its arrow remap. I didn't do it when put the exhaust on, so going to get it done. Some people say it's doesn't do anything, but for the sake of £30, I would rather get it done because the exhaust does lean the map a bit. Ment to improve low/mid range.

Yep, that's why I say you could put some ACF50 on there - the places that rust are nowhere near where the pads touch. As long as you don't go crazy with it, it'll be fine.

Do your research first.

A lot of people don't apply the Arrow map as it is primarily to bring the bike back into spec for emissions etc. You can lose power and noise by applying the map.

As we're talking midlife crisis in the chatroom I thought this be apt for the young uns and oldies getting back on bikes :p
