Bikers Youtube thread

I thought you were quite reserved to be honest, may god help any ****** that does that to me </keyboard warrior>

Glad you're OK though mate, scary as hell.

Could always be worse fella just remember that, Were you injured at all? I am still at a complete loss as to how she didn't see you.

It is amazing the difference between the 2 cameras because yours makes it seem like you were doing above the speed limit yet the second one makes it seem much more sedate. Saying that my accident back in April last year the footage looks as though I am going much faster than I am. While not as clear cut as yours I realise what I did wrong and how this could have been avoided.

Yeah which is why I am glad I had my mates camera behind, I thought when I saw my footage "that looks quick" despite knowing what speed I was going! I like the angle of the footage on the helmet but the reality of speed and depth etc is really warped on top of the lid...

I don't know how she didn't see me either, bright blue bike, headlight on, white jacket, noisy as hell bike :D she just plain wasnt paying attention, she even asked my mate afterwards who he was.... "I was the bloke on the bike behind the guy you knocked off" she said "didn't know there was another bike".... /facepalm
Yeah could have been a lot worse, I think my reaction was a mix of rage and surprise that I didn't break anything, I remember being in the air and thinking oh god I know the landing hurts but amazingly it didn't, full kit saves lives Yo :D
Just a very sore leg, and a bit of muscle pain elsewhere, middle of back, right hand trap, right abdominals.

*OUCH! I knew as soon as I saw that gap after the van there was a car coming :D Were you injured?

Fractured my left wrist and hairline fracture in my left forearm and shoulder all from me putting my hand down as I hit the floor. I also pulled all the muscles alone my side on both my back and in my ribs as well as bruising on my right left from the car hitting me.

Yeah in hindsight I should have been going much slower, I was doing around 25mph at the time of the impact but I think even knocking 5/10 off of that id have come close to hitting the side of her car but who knows. I was completely dazed afterwards and it took a good minute to even realise I was on the floor and someone was talking to me but I felt fine for around 20 minutes and it wasn't until I tried to lift my bike that I had a real bad shooting pain up my arm.

Ouch, I snapped my Ulna in a previous accident so I know those broken forearm feels!

How did the insurance view your accident?
And more importantly did the pretty lady accompany you in the ambulance? :D

Fireskull - Good advert for All the gear all the time. Bloody sucky accident but you popped straight back up!

Wooogie - Glad to see you acknowledge what you did wrong. Filtering is great, but just imagine every single person you are going past is going to deviate/come across you without warning. :p

I was in a cast for 6 weeks which was just hellish :( I hated every second of it.

lol no she didn't, I don't even really remember her being there and it only twigged when I watched the video.

My Insurance have viewed that legally I am in the right despite the fact I was going slightly too fast for the situation, The police report also only stated that the only possible negligence they can see is on her part not mine yet it is still ongoing.

What were you thinking?, never breeze along in city traffic like you've not got a care in the world, your hazard perception was truly atrocious.

I have already acknowledged what I did wrong.... as previously stated but thank you for stating the obvious.

Mind if I pop that in our FB group, Fireskull? It's a closed group. Be a good example to the newer riders of what kind of stupid **** drivers can pull

Glad you came out relatively unscathed anyway :)

How on earth did that woman not see you?!!

Because she doesn't have X ray vision?, seriously watch the vid again & pay attention to the stationary traffic, the last 2 vehicles before the junction are 2 large vans which block her view of the inside lane traffic, and block his view of the on coming traffic.

I think Sagalout was referring to FireSkulls incident :p

GoPro footage on my head so the fish eye gives a warped view of distance and speed, I am happy my friend was behind because his footage shows that we weren't going fast.
I was on the brakes as soon as I saw her cross the white line, which in reality was about two car lengths, stop starting the video from brakes to impact, 3 seconds? if that, not a chance of stopping :(

I apologise for my raging also but I was pretty shaken up, cringing watching it back now, I cut my footage short because there was lots of swearing, first thing I asked the guy was are the kids ok.

The rage... 100% justified. Glad you're all good mate :)

Haha ta daa I'm still alive

Gear held up very well, dainese jacket, minor maps, same goes for the RST bottoms, boots nothing I could see, helmet light marks but that was just a scuff didn't take any impact.

Did the plod get involved Fireskull, or did you just swap details cos she put her hands up right from the off?.
