sorry for being thick but not entirely familiar how shares work, can you explain please. Thanks.

Not a spoiler just general stock trading. You can bet on a stock to rise 'going long' and bet against it 'shorting' (ie the price will go down). In real world terms there's much more risk shorting a stock as potentially if it keeps rising it can far exceed the money you put in in the first place (there is no limit to how high a stock can go), whereas buying shares/stocks to go up you can only lose a maximum of what you have invested if it goes all the way down to 0.

When you short a stock, you basically sell stock you don't actually own. You borrow it for a period.

When you give the borrowed stock back, you have to then buy it at the future price.

If it's gone down you make money. Sell high, buy low.

Basically as said above, you are betting it goes down.

Stock goes up - buy now, sell after it's gone up.

Stock goes down - sell now, buy when it's gone down.

Enjoyed the ending, least it's coming back for S3. Not too sure how they can keep the back and forth going before it starts to drag down the show.

yeah it is surprising how they've managed it - the overall story is now pretty ridiculous but the writing for each individual episode is still great

I reckon he'll go for a huge settlement next season - perhaps using the Wendy thing for leverage... he'll avoid jail time, pay a massive settlement as offered before - though this time Chuck won't try and screw him at the last minute by banning him from trading altogether, he'll be allowed to carry on trading as a family office.

'Dollar' Bill will probably serve time though
