Bioshock 1.1 Patch Out

can anyone confirm that it has got rid of the 'no muzzleflash noise' from either both the player or bots+AI... also, does 5.1 work yet? or is it all a wee bit weird.

No, 5.1 does not work for me. Doesn't work in Half life either so I thought it was just Vista or Creative (or both).

Three days later, 2K allowed me to activate the game I payed for about a month ago. Wasn't that impressed with it at the start but just met my first two big daddies and now I'm getting well into the game, looks very good and I think I was even dreaming about it last night.

Except I've got 4 plasmids and only 2 'slots' for them - which is rubbish. Map says you can buy extra slots at Gatherer's Gardens, but not that I can see - it sells a plasmid, and tonics and stuff but no extra slots? What's the story?

could be! 5.1/7.1 works fine for me in vista using my xonar D2

5.1 is weird for me, it crackles and stutters, doesnt hapen in any other games, in XP.

Problem Solved, it wasn't the patch after all.

Somehow LCD Overdrive was enabled by default in the new CCC.

The new Sonic Boom is pretty cool but I've yet to see any of the other new Plasmids in action. Glad I played this game again, got a little thrill of excitement as Rapture once more unfolded in front of me in the intro.

Just wanted to say: Oh My Goodness, what a wonderful, amazing, glorious, horrific, beautiful game. Excellent, and I'm probably only about half-way through.

Seriously thinking about not going out drinking tonight just so I can go home and play this instead. Not many games have done that to me.

Anyone else having probs installing this patch?

I just reinstalled the game to check this out, as I wanted to play this game again, but after installing and running the patch, during patch installation I keep getting an error:

Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since the file contents don't match

Seems a very bizarre error for a patch? I would assume the file already exists, and as the new file is a patch, I would also assume the file contents don't match?!?!?

It seems to be doing it on EVERY file in the patch, as I have to hit ok 20+ times then it says "the patch was installed successfully" yea right! Booting the game up still tells me im in V1.0!

I'm on vista32bit and Im installing the English/German patch.

Anyone have any ideas?

Dont worry, I got it working now, I needed the "worldwide" patch... I got thrown by the mention of "English" in the other patch, funny that!
