Bioshock £3.49 on Steam now!

:p True, think I'll get it. Going to get Crysis and Warhead as well for £30 for the 2. Its £30 for just crysis at some retailers.

Gutted for me as i bought Valve Complete Pack for £52 on the 23rd and then it went down in the sale! :p

May go buy BioShock. Had it on 360 but will probably be so much better on a PC. How well does it run on say a Core 2 Duo 2.8, 4GB DDR3 RAM and a 9600GT?

It ran great on my machine (in sig), I believe it uses the UT3 engine so is multi core but I expect should run well on your C2D.

I'm sorry I'm even asking this, but is there ANYTHING you actually enjoy playing? I can't say as I've ever seen a positive comment from you about any game, and even if the style of the game is to your liking, you moan like **** about it not being 60fps!

I've made positive comments and there are plenty of games I like. Half Life series, GTA series (SA mostly), various NFS games, UT2004, Max Payne, Peggle... off the top of my head.

Having not played it the first time around I'm pleasantly surprised by Bioshock!

Decent narrative and well realised stylisation of the settings. The bit where you float into the city just after the intro is excellent.
The melee weapon is excellent, but I think the guns could do with a little work - I find the plasmids rather cumbersome though I think I'll get used to it.

My only gripe is that a lot of it looks as if it has been wrapped in clingfilm.

I've Bagged Bioshock, Can anyone recommend Counter Strike and which one ??its for an old geezer like me, been thinking about it for a while and don't want to go through checkout twice thanks

Get source, it's the latest with the best graphics. A lot of people recommend the old one still, but I'd say source is better just for casual gaming, cs 1.6 looks and feels dated now but many people still enjoy it for it's gameplay.

If you have played other source games like Half life 2 you will have an idea what cs source looks like, it runs well on even older systems and there is a massive player base. It might take a while to get into it but pick a server that's easier for noobs and give it some time. Althought I'm bored of it now I think I've played it more than any other game, for £6.99 it's a huge amount of gaming.

If you don't already have some of Valves source games I can't recommend the orange box enough as it has HL2, both episodes and team fortress 2 for just over £15.

Can get them for just under £15 each online, so it all depends on whether you want the disc version or the Steam one. Nice prices either way.

Cheers buddy thats the one i had in mind thanks

Which of these games should I go for? I really want a new action game, like fps and good storylines. I've played Bioshock on 360 but couldnt really get into it, will I like it better on PC with a decent control system?

I've just finished a 4 hour session playing BioShock and must say it's an absolute steal for the money - I was a bit confused at first but I've really got into it - I love the Telekenisis :D

I'm finding it difficult to get into Bioshock tbh, good graphics but I'm not sure if I like it yet.

I found the first 20 mins or so a bit confusing and was about to give up on it, as the story is a bit random, but if you give it a chance, it's really good.

The enemies are sods though, and I have been caught out a lot by not reloading weapons then being stuffed when I change from electro shock to shotgun, for example.

haha I'm so easily swayed, downloading now :D

Anything else I should get from the sale whilst I'm at it? Preferably some kind of action/adventure or a fun platform type game. There are far too many for me to sift through it all :p

Have you played Far Cry?, just seen this for £3.74 which is a bargain.
I'm sure I've seen it for free on some other site tho, but I think that has ad's in....

Still, for little more than a pint it's a great game, and you should be able to run it maxxed with todays hardware... :)

My finger has been on the buy button for days but Vista x64 isn't on the list of supported OS's. From what I can see, it works fine on Vista x32 but as for x64 I am not sure. I've already got the retail version but just don't want to try that - from what I recall the amount of patches that game requires is just ludicrous and they have to be done in some silly order.
