Bioshock £3.49 on Steam now!

Whats the best setting to play on, i would prefer realistic, if theres such a setting.

Then possibly the 3rd which ever that is called. played it for a bit and it would be more realistic than the 2nd. no running and gunning cause if you get surrounded your dead ;)

Well it is less than a fiver. One of the big name games of the year. And with it being on Steam you won't get any of the DRM problems that afflicted those who bought it on DVD. Can't see any reason not to get it at that price and delivery method. :)
Yep, my main machine does not have an optical drive so steam is perfect for me. :)

I don't really play games that much tho, hence me not knowing about this one... :o

Hmmm I'm tempted by Crysis and Warhead for £30 for both but not sure.

Also not sure about Bioshock, It looks a bit strange from the screen shots.

Argh Modern Warefare is £22 and i paid £30 just before christmas .

I thought it was just me. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. After getting to the point where the crowbar no longer sufficed I really started to notice it.

Yeah, I'm having mouse issues too on this one... the mouse seems to "increment" in multitudes of pixels across the screen when set at a decent rate (3), and to remove that I have to set the rate to 1, but then i need a desktop the size of a footie pitch in order to turn around.

Although I'm getting decent frame rates, because the mouse increments across the screen to some kind of grid spacing, it looks very jerky and puts me off playing... Funnily I get the same in Rainbow Six 3 - Ravenshield, but all the others seem to work fine.

I'm still waiting to hear if anyone who has bought the ID super pack has had any luck installing mods with it to enable mouselook etc....anyone?

On another note....World of Goo. I'm not a fan of puzzle games, not in the slightest...I get bored and want to go and shoot or conquer something, FPS and RTS are generally my thing.

But, because it looked very different to anything else and had such strong reviews I downloaded the demo last night.

Oh...
Good...
Grief...

I've been playing computer games for over 20 years and I can't remember a time when I've been so enthralled as I was with World of Goo!
Everything about it is fantastic, from the sound effects, to the physics, to the mysterious messages on signs...and the ending to the first chapter...just loved it.

If you haven't already bought it, please at least try the demo (and then hopefully buy it), this developer deserves all the support they can get...a stupendously fantastic game!

(Needless to say as soon as I finished the demo I bought it off Steam!)

This is another first...I've played hundreds of games but I haven't raved about one quite so embarrassingly since probably Doom or the original C&C...it really is good. :)

Ok ive just ordered world of goo after reading what you said.

Oh well wasn't going to buy anything but ended up getting IL2:1946 and X3: terran conflict. I already had the last x3 on steam but if you buy both its cheaper, it actually let me buy both?!

It's certainly not a run-of-the-mill FPS but that's one of its strengths, really. The fact that it's frequently strange and/or downright weird makes for a very unsettling atmosphere, which is part of what makes it such a superb gaming experience.
