BioShock installation

Come on guys, it's just a frick'in game for crying out loud. Find something else to do... watch a film, see your girlfriend, sleep, go out?!
 
The games release date in the UK is the 24th of August. Is it any surprise to you that you can't play the game until that date??

Serves all you pre-orderers right for getting so cocky about being able to play the game before the rest of us ;)

Why should they? They want to play the game they have bought and so they should be able to. What a joke this activation is. As said before, it hurts the people who buy the genuine game and does nothing to stop piracy.
 
Glad its not just me who can't get on the autopatcher server :D
Can't help but think that 2K just trying to make us squirm a little though
So is it due on soon then ?
 
Meh going to play some 5-aside footy with some mates in a few hours so if my copy hasnt arrived by then (by that I mean the postman :rolleyes: :p ) then hopefully the activation servers will be up by the time I get back. Must say its an absolutely horrible day in London atm :(.
 
The real joke about the activation is its only pc owners who are getting shafted up the ass with it, even though theres thousands of torrents for the 360 version.

Good job 2k games, obviously console owners would never pirate a game. :rolleyes:

So true.

Stop complaining that you can't play the game before the specified release date, which we all knew about anyway.
 
Looking at one private torrent site and one public site I can see that the 360 version has so far been downloaded 947 times, that would equate to a loss of revenue of £37,870.53 based on RRP of £39.99 compaired to the PC version which has so far lost £0.00

So clearly the copy protection works, but at what cost. Maybe they should consider putting copy protection of console games as the piracy rate of console software is climbing rapidly and its often a lot easier to pirate console software and use it that it is on the PC.

A majority of PC gamers are probably more inclined to get pirate software after the treatement they get with regards to software releases. Specially when its a complete **** up like Bioshocks release has been.

Nope it doesn't, I've seen the PC version with crack available. So those who paid sweet FA are playing while I'm sitting here clicking the start/resume button trying to get my legal, paid version to autopatch and authenticate. :mad: :mad: :mad:

Nothing cocky about it.. I just bought a copy from ASDA which was on there shelfs.
 
Im quite frankly surprised they wont activate today as they are gona get very tested tommorow when everyone tries to activate at the same time!

Its nothing to do with release date, the servers are just down, someone here activated it yesterday.
 
I can't believe how much moaning is going on this forum, some of you need to take a deep breath and calm down. ;)


Yes I am a pc gamer and in the same boat regarding the server.

Ahh sorry then I got confused when the OP said he rang 2K and was told the servers wont be up till tommorow for activation.

Well thats what i think it is :p, people on the 2k forums have said that 2k are trying to get the servers up by 1pm GMT.
 
Ordered my copy from Jersey on Tuesday so very surprised to see it drop through my letter box this morning. Patiently waiting for news of activation (haven't tried yet but hope it is 1pm)

I know there are dodgy copies of the PC version out already, im just going by what I personally saw at 2 torrent sites which didnt have it yet.

But like you im waiting for the activation servers to come back online :(
