BioShock installation

Regardless of activation, copy protection or what some view as a "crappy PC release", you really should buy BioShock. A game of this quality does not come along too often these days and I feel we should show our appreciation, as gamers, regardless.
 
There seems to be a huge amount of confusion, even amongst the 2K tech support team.
One person on the official forums rang up and was told that he wont be able to activate until the game's launch on the 24th.
However someone else rang up and was told that the game activation servers are already up and running, so if he has it he should be able to activate and play it already - problems with the auto patcher not withstanding.
They have said the auto patcher SHOULD be up and working again by 1PM UK time.

Apparently someone else was told that the patch and activation servers would both be coming online, so we would be able to activate it too.
no one really knows because no one has been able to finish installing it yet :D

I think 2K's tech support team need to talk to each other and get their stories straight - it does not reflect well on them if members of the support team all seem to be telling customers different things regarding when they will be able to play the game.
Most wbesites dispatch preorders so you get them 1 day before release, Game have, Play.com have, gameplay.co.uk have, some people have even bought it off the shelves.
So it would not make sense for 2K to not let you activate it till tomorrow - they must KNOW that many people get the game 1 day before release due to preordering it...
 
It can definitely be activated before tomorrow when the servers are up, people in Europe have done this and someone on this forum with a UK copy has done the same.

Couldnt agree more, we should support the people that make this game, as they have done a great job. But if anything p**sing people off like this will only encourage pirating the game via torrents etc. Lonebehold if the servers go down tomorrow when the rest of the nation will be trying to activate.

Just been on the phone to TAKE 2 and was told they are holding off activating till tomoz and no one should have there game working in Europe !
I had a right good bit of hassle with him and said if they aint up by 4pm i am taking the game back to the store and downloaded a torrent to play tonight :mad:
B******S to this i paid legit and some arse wipe downloads and can play its just not on dont care what anyone says !!!

Its my current connection rofl, its ment to be 4mb, but a combination or a broken router and modem plus poor line connection its more like 56k or less.

Oh well changing soon.
 
Another case of the ligitimate buyers being screwed while the warez pirates are sat at home prolly playing the game already :(
 
My copy arrived this morning from Jersey, just installed it and it took about a minute to update and activate, now working fine. :D

Personally I fail to see what all the activation bruhaha is about.
 
Still won't accept my serial number!

On the phone to 2K support and it is because the game isn't released until tommorow.

When informed that people are playing the game he said they aren't.
