???????????????

I hit a magpie at 160kph in my mums Fosrester not long ago.

I didnt swerve or slam the brakes on, I broke as safely as i could but it wasnt enough to avoid and "BANG!" i hit it anywhere between 140 and 160 and feathers went flying all over the road behind me and the bird went under the car.
When i later stopped to make sure it hadn't gone through the front bumper and broken anything made of plastic up the front there was a big blood splatter with a few feathers and chunks of what looked like little bits of mince meat over the number plate and surrounding area.

It dented the Numberplate of the car:eek:
If it hit the plastic bits up front it would probably have gone straight through them

He was only playing and flying around with his Girlfriend aswell, The worst part was seeing him coming and knowing you are gonna nail it and there is no way you will miss it. Well that and the thud it makes on the car that you can feel jolt right through you like the feeling you get standing next to a subwoofer :(

That's quality, what are the chances of that, :)

A friend of mine used to work for Anglia Water and whilst driving through Thetford Forest in his van, had a pheasant fly in through the open driver side window

It looked like he did want to swerve, first reaction and all to try and miss it.. you can see it on the floor infront of the car.. but then he realises at 180 on the edge of his Evo's ability making some major swerving action isnt going to be good and does the right thing. How low are Evo's?, i'd like to know if the bird hadnt taken off would it have survived?

Ouch, looks pretty nasty!

Makes you wonder about driving a kitcar or similar car with no windscreen though... Back in the 1960s, an F1 driver called Alan Stacey got hit full in the face by a bird whilst doing 180mph at Spa. It killed him instantly, even though he was helmeted up. Not nice!

I'm just trying to picture the last few thoughts of the bird in question:
"what's that spot on the horizon"
"f..k me, how can that box possibly be travelling so fast"
"oh sheeeeeeeeeeee...."

That is just scary.

I nailed a small bird on the bike around 100ish once, luckinly it got chopped in half by my wing mirror and didn't hit me. I pulled over to check for damage and I must have chopped it cleanly as there was very little mess! :D could have been much worse!

haha, I have a mental image now of a seagul ducking, wings over eyes, as the Evo passes over it,

just remembered.. my friends mum hit a dear in cambridge the other day and i repaired it with plastex. it looks not so obvious now.

btw the car was a 1999 corsa.

EDIT; and i didnt want to ask her what it was like as she thinks eating meat is bad enough.
