Well now the bird is back again, currently watching TV, will put him up high somewhere where the mother can get to him, but not the cat

My mum tends to hold them for a few minutes (as their usually shocked and whatever). Keeps them warm and they should eventually fly off.

I remember my friend and i saved a chick, it fell out of a tree and we put it in a bush, then his cat was about to pounce so he booted it, and he didnt see his cat for 3 days!

Yup, this is true. Last year my dog picked a baby bird up in her mouth. She didn't hurt it, but when we took it off her and put it back in the garden the mother wouldn't go near it any more. Poor chap died a couple of days later

Not true...

Yesterday i was cutting our hedges, didnt see a blackbird nest, chopped it, and 4 baby birds fell out

Rang RSPB for advice, and they told me ( after getting a lecture over it being a seroius criminal offense to disturb a nest :eek:

) to pick them up, put them back in the nest and put it back near to where they were and the nmother would take them back.

I did and the mother did return and fed the babies

Took a pic after id picked the babies up and put them back in the nest
