Bit of a Rant about the benefit system

'Britain's Trillion Pound Horror Story' on Channel 4 a few months ago talking about the state of the UK deficit mountain and I'm certain the figure was something like for every £1 paid in benefits it costs £4 in admin!

53% of people employed in UK work for the state - no wonder we are in this predicament!!

Couple that with ultra rich people avoiding tax through complex loopholes and the middleclass having to pick up the tab, it makes you want to move away from this hole......... but unfortunately the story is very similar elsewhere, although not to quite the same extent!

Truth is the Tories have been left with 5 Trillion+ in deficit and the only people that have benefitted are those screwing the benefits system and the ultra rich IMO.

A lot of those coming into retirement now have made their money and happy to settle down, homes paid for and savings nice and healthy. Very few people these days could even hope to have anywhere near the level of comfort..... unless something drastic happens then the situation will get significantly worse, significantly quickly.


I have a friend on benefits and she is currently off with depression. Why is she depressed......... because she doesn't have a job. What does she do about it? Nothing but watch TV all day.

I like to think of myself as a tolerant guy but people like her really do make my blood boil.

Totally agree with the food voucher idea made earlier - nobody would be allowed to trade them either!

It is a far more profitable system when people are grateful to get any job they can at minimum wage. Employers can pick and choose employees from hundreds of applicants, all desperate to clean toilets so that their family can eat.

It's a very synical thing to say, but he's kind of right, because people always abuse charity. I really don't see the point of having a wellfare system, unless we have unlimited resources and energy.
 
Quick rant needed.

I live in a part-buy flat, as does everyone in my block. On the other side however its all fully social housing. Most sit all day watching their 50" plasmas whilst occasionally leaving the house to have a fag.

Neighbour directly opposite case in point. She is fat, smokes and too lazy to go shopping as she has an iceland delivery once a week. When she does leave the house its either to smoke or walk 20 yards to the edge of a field to walk her also over weight dog. She has one of those devices to throw the ball for her as she seems incapable herself.

She regularly lets the dog out to crap on the pavement and disappears inside without cleaning it up. I hate her and all jobless scrounging workshy scum.

Lock her in a room with only water to drink and toilet, she'll soon lose weight, and then she can get a job. There's no hope! :(

ffs did it not enter you mind that she may have a medical condition? or does it just make you feel good and superior to hate someone for little reason.

omg she smokes....so what? i smoked for 24 years (finally quit) and it takes a fair bit of willpower for some to get over the addiction. maybe she's got something wrong with her that makes movement painfull for her, so in turn she doesent excercise, puts on weight and enters the catch 22 situation.

maybe YOU should do a day in HER shoes.

£10 says that any medical problems she has right now is in direct relation to the weight she currently is. I bet good money that if she did any kind of low impact excerise and ate properly, reached her ideal weight, that she would be more then able to work. Even if it's just a desk job

most poeple not working dont have conditions, so its a fair bet there is nothing really wrong with her..

if he works he is superior to her anway so he has every right to feel superior... he is paying for her to live for her fags and dog food, her house and heating... etc etc etc..

(assuming op works and lady in question does not and is on benefits)

Tell me about it, when i was a kid we went on 2 holidays, never over seas. 1 was corwall and the other skeg (2 nights in a B&B) because we had no money. Both parents worked, but didnt get much back then.

I know a single mum, who works 3 days a week, is going to Disneyland Pais AND Majorca this year.

I work full time and because I want to move out I'm not going away this year. Yet she works 3 days a week, gets a lot less per hour than me, and is going on 2 ******* holidays this year. oh and get most of her rent etc paid!

It’s possible yes and realise I sound hugely elitist. I'd bet a pound to a penny she's just a fat lazy sod though. ;)

If she does have a condition I would doubt it prevents her from bending over to clean up after her dog however.

I take issue with her smoking as it will inevitably result in her being a huge drain on the tax payer after contributing nothing to the system I put in to.

Overpopulation can result in more people than jobs, which in turn can result in lower pay for those in employment due to competition. More people than jobs means higher unemployment. Ipso facto, overpopulation is apparently (based on the quote earlier) good for the economy.

Or maybe just kidnap every *****-child and sort them according to attributes, then train them in their certain field.

15 years time we will have an army of super-soldiers, street cleaners who live to scrape that patch of gum from the underside of a park bench, and an unpaid research society filled with scientists trained from birth to design fusion reactors, robots, and software to run on the robots.

This would turn a problem into a solution to all Britain's problems. :).
