Just been watching the Jeramy kyle show special on benifit briton! its has driven me insane.

I am self employed and cant work at the moment due to a minor operation and can barely walk. let alone lift anything.

there are people on that show that sit at home having sex and kids every day and are getting there house paid for, there bills reduced, there council tax written off as well as any debt reduced! one lady on there was getting £1700 a month and was saying how really that wasnt enough!

all they seem to do now is offer people security courses for nothing and then give them a job in the security industry!

i had to pay for my security course and the license £500 in total. i then worked the odd door after a day of my full time job! now when im working away in security i will do 100 hour weeks 7 days a week. and that can be months at a time! now my work is going to be harder and harder to find because they keep giving out the license i had to work hard and save for to people who really dont give a crap!

why is the benefit system in this country so awful! people are proud to be able to live without having to work at all! i would find it degrading and embarrassing if i was living on benefits! im only 22 but since i left college at 17 i have worked a full time job every week since! and when i was out of work i took anything i could, i was working restaurants, bars anything i could! i cant see how it is that hard for people to find work, understandably i know it easier for me at 22 to get a job in a bar than say at 50 year old.

right rant over, and there really is no point to this thread other than me venting my anger and moaning lol

It stinks mate. Half my wife's family are benefit players yet they seem to do it within the law. Some of the stuff they get away with would make you eyes bleed.. when they tell me I'm shocked. I shouldn't be.. They just know how to work the system. After all, it's their full time job to exploit every loop hole

One of my wife's old school friends and her husband have four kids and both are on state benefit. She is too fat to move and is classed as "Immobile".. he is classed as her her full time career.. The make a fortune from the tax payer.. So much so they make posts on face-book asking if £500 is too much for a dog!!! "Yes it is when the tax payer is paying".

They have sky of course which seems to be mandatory.

Help where people "Need" it my ****! give it to the bankers!

its unreal! my gf has just moved into a flat by herself she earns £1200 a month and can just manage it. i am helping out when im back from work but when you see people getting £1700 a month for sitting watching tv it really makes my blood boil! shes working her ass off to pay bill and keep out of the red!

there should be some type on compulsory work if you fail to find a job in say 6months! where you work for your job allowance sorting rubbish, or cleaning the streets or even doing community service

There are 101 different scams people pull, current one with the immigrants is scamming free school dinners.
When they marry the surnames don't change, so when they put in the paperwork the checks don't show up that one parent is getting working tax credits. Bingo, another £40 a month of freebies.

People getting benefits is fine with me, everything being geared towards "helping" people on benefits is not, for example, my son is due to go to Nursery school in September but because places are only guaranteed for children with parents on benefits he might not get a place in any of our preferred schools.

How is this fair? My wife and I pay into the welfare state for free schooling yet someone on benefits who pay's the sum total of **** all takes preference? It's time to stop rewarding people who give nothing back to the country and start encouraging people to work for a living.

'Playing the game' is fair enough in my book ironically enough. Morally corrupt as it is, I can understand why some do it.

The problem I have is the response by those in power to it; or lack of response.

It used to be that people were ashamed to admit that they were on benefits and would give anything to get back into work. How times change.

someone i know has been on benefits for 8 years and given a house, now she's decided to buy it for 20k - nearly 90k saving on the list price. yet I have to go out and pay our 150k mortgage?

thing is you need kids and lots of em. to make it worth while.

It'll be easier soon as well as the gov. are getting rid of the departments that are there to catch them out.

I have been unemployed for 6 months since the age of 16 (now late 30s) and when I was unemployed (aged 23) the gov. give me 25 quid a week to survive on all of which I gave to my parents since I can't ask them to keep me for free. It should have been 30 but they took £5 off because I was under 25 lol

Be nice...but its not 'just' or 'fair' to do that.

Be different if i had a say so in it :p

I find EMA even more disturbing than benefits.
There are so many people that just attend to get there EMA at college , it is just absolutely shocking.
However there are a few genuinely hard working individuals that do get EMA but they are a very small minority.
Good job they scraped it through, but next year it is going to be a nerdfest.

It isn't a game everyone can play though.
