Black Mesa Source

Yeah it would have been nice if it all was completed but it was taking too long really, waiting for Xen would have probably added a year and no one would have been interested by then.

Highly doubt it, as has been said, people have been waiting in anticipation for BMS for years, another year for Xen wouldn't have affected things at all, it would have just added more to peoples already high anticipation for BMS.

What.A.Game.

Never played HL1 but If it was better than this I totally get the hype now.

From my experience, It's Half Life, with a few minor twists, some not quite working, but overall, an awesome, awesome job they did. That's dedication, and Valve should give these guys some real kudos. And Also, good of them not getting all uppity over it.

It plays almost exactly like HL1 did but what youve got to remember is that no one had played anything quite like this before, so you can imagine how incredible it felt back then.

It makes HL2 even more impressive that they could get another game with such high scores. The HL series really is "a beacon of light in a swamp of mediocrity" as I once heard it described!

Just completed this after my second playthrough of hl2, ep 1 and ep2.

What an awesome game, they added original music and sounds which gave the game a slightly different feel. I played the original so long ago, felt like a whole new game.

Anybody played the "Surface Tension Uncut" add on for Black Mesa yet? Apparently adds the original "Forget Freeman" level back in.

here

This is pretty good, not quite as polished as the rest of BM.

I couldn't remember the bits that had been left out but when I saw them I was like "oh yeah that bit"

oh bugger. i had no computer at all last year and i didn't know this had come out. i'm in the process of getting a pc up and running again but i don't have broadband - only 3G. on PAYG it would cost me over a tenner to download this. i think i might cry. :(:D

Hey guys,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but figured it was better than starting a new one.

Having never played Half Life of Half Life 2 I feel like I should. Graphics aren't a huge problem to me but might be for something as old as 1998 on P.C

Is Black Mesa the full HL1 game? I keep seeing that it's the full game and then other places say its a remake of chapters "Black Mesa Inbound" to "Lambda Core". Does that mean that some of the content is missing?
