Black Myth: Wukong

Does this game not have HDR support?
No but who cares we're on PC right? RTX hdr, Special K....take your pick.

I've been using Special K HDR with this and works a treat.

Stuck on the final boss with over 70 hours on this game now. FFS I can't beat his second phase.

I care!

Big budget games without native HDR support is just downright lazy.

So what you gonna do? Moan or just use one of the free tools?

What you need to realise, is that you're using a public forum. And as is the nature of these things, you're going to encounter people who have different expectations from you; they may even express opinions you don't agree with.

You can be obnoxious, or you can simply skip to the next thread without engaging any further. ;)

HDR workaround:

Navigate to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\b1\Saved\Config\Windows and open the Engine.ini file. Scroll down to the very bottom and copy/paste this.

[SystemSettings]
r.AllowHDR=1
r.HDR.EnableHDROutput=1
r.HDR.Display.OutputDevice=5
r.HDR.Display.ColorGamut=2
r.HDR.UI.CompositeMode=1
r.FullScreenMode=0
r.HDR.UI.Level=1.5
r.HDR.Display.MidLuminance=54
r.HDR.Display.MaxLuminance=750

thanks ;) may try this out rather than using rtx hdr the fur in this game is well furry. all im going to be shouting is monkey magic every time i do a spell if this works.

Finished the game today; great fun and apart from a few bosses with annoying mechanics, I found it enjoyably challenging.

Already started a NG+. Not sure if I'll keep it up as I don't think there is much I missed first time as I generally used guides to make sure I hadn't missed any bosses at the end of each chapter. I'd like the opportunity to stomp on some of those bosses though :D

I did Erlang. Man what a pig that was. It took me ages to get him, then I couldn't beat his final form Erlang Shen afterwards. Took me so many goes to get it right. In the end after that, I found the last boss relatively OK, only took a handfull of attempts.

really enjoyed the hours i have played it which is a fair few. change all my skills to suit some of these bosses but cannot seem to beat a certain boss on chapter 6 :rolleyes:
hopefully get past it at the weekend.

finally beat the final boss last night after attempting it over 20 times :D
to many times he took my drink
not to sure moving to ng+ yet think i have a few things to collect first.
is there anything important you can miss which you cannot get in ng+ ?

I got stuck on
Kang-Jin Star
on chapter 3 and gave up. I've never struggled with a boss this much even as a From Software and Nioh veteran (Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen too).

I must be doing something fundamentally wrong...

this was the first area i really started messing around with other builds. i went with a pluck of many on that boss and used immobilized a lot with some mana potions.

NG+ is a laugh; less than a week since I started it and I'm on Chapter 6 already. Have only died maybe 4 times. It's been good fun destroying bosses that I was stuck on last time. I think Chapter 6 will bring some challenges though ...

I'm not sure what was wrong with me before, I just turned the game on for the first time in 6 weeks and beat her first time without it even being a struggle. I feel stupid for saying I found it so hard, because that was pretty easy!

The only thing I can think of is that I binged it and got to this boss at the end of a long session, perhaps I had just burnt out. I tend to rush then and make poor decisions in combat and get quickly frustrated when things don't go my way.

I ended up going all in on immobilize and thrust stance. TBH, I think changing to thrust stance was the game changer.

this works better than adding RTX hdr through there app no performance penalty and a more accurate presentation. i increased the max nits though to 1000 :D
