Black Summer (NetFlix)

I`m on episode 3 and this is a big disappointment. I really liked season 1. It seems rather disjointed from season 1 and has gone off in a bad direction. The characters are also really stupid. I've read this being heralded as better than TWD but in that at least they showed that they learnt stuff about the zombies and how to kill them. In this you get 2 or 3 of them running away from a single zombie. Even when they do attack them they still just wack them anywhere have they not yet noticed the head is the important bit.

Also in Ep3 in the Mansion they are running short of wood for the fire so they send someone outside to get some wood. Yet its full of wood inside, chairs tables desks god knows what all made of wood ? Break off table legs with your foot and chuck it on the fire you idiots. The whole massive staircase is made of wood.

This is like a different show.

I actually started watching Z Nation a while ago and didnt really like it then I realised Black Summer is a prequel to Z Nation so thought I would watch this then try Z Nation again.
 
Yup, S2 is not a patch on 1 and the characters are ridiculous and totally unlikable - all of them!

Also, yes it is a prequel to Z Nation, but it is a completely different show. Z Nation started out really well, but became more comedic (still enjoyed the show!) whereas BS is more gritty.
 
I've been smashing through this, makes not much sense,but it is easy watching.

I mostly dislike how nobody tries to open doors on properties and they only go for the occupied property each time.

Season 2 makes no sense too. Limited ammo, dead people come back to life, so what do they do, kill each other.
 
Just watched this. Yet another show where the characters are so painfully stupid it hurts. I actually wish death upon most of them.
 
The first season is amongst my favourites in the genre.
The second one seems like an entirely different show. The lead woman just become a despicable person and I didn't really care about anyone. Not a good way to get invested in a story.
After the ending of S1 I was really keen for a second season. After season 2, I'm not bothered at all if there is a season 3.
