Yeh, I went through a jar last summer, applied it once a week, and while it stings a little bit the first time you know it works, my skin's really smooth now, it can promote hair growth too.

One thing that did seem to help after the clearsil fail was a bit of aftershave. Stings like hell but stops them re-appearing.

Best solution is to just keep the pores clean until they eventually shrink and close up. So regular head over bowl of hot water to open the pores, use a face mask designed to draw out the crap and impurities (use weekly/bi-weekly) and finish with a toner to close the pores.
You will need to wash your face regularly throughout to make sure your face is always clean and not full of grime etc. Also find a suitable facewash and if required a moisturiser to make sure your skin isn't always dried out, as you'll find it'll end up producing more oil to compensate which will lead to blackheads.
Contrary to popular belief you shouldn't force blackheads out as this can damage the skin and lead to scarring.

1 finger either side + apply pressure. I've been doing that when ever they come for the last 10 years and not got a scar. For ones on your chest and back - I saw street doctor and they said most often they are a bit tougher to get rid of and you can get some stuff from your doctor that breaks them down. Shouldn't try and pop those!
