Which third party cards are people feeling this time around?

I’m hoping to get a PNY card - these aren’t a ‘big brand’ but seem to have the most consistent positive experiences, from what I can tell.

My experience with Gigabyte has been ‘OK’ as per my thread here they definitely cheaped out on their thermal pads on my 3090 and all Gigabyte cards I’ve had in my possession were prone to annoying fan ramping issues, requiring disabling RGB in the case of the 4090s. However, the Aorus 4090 was a lovely card… only sent it back because of a rattly fan. The ‘Gaming OC’ was a coil whiny piece of poo, just like the FE edition.

The FE edition 4090 was built like tank, very impressive, but the coil whine has put me off going ‘reference’ again tbh.

Literally whatever is in stock, hit the order button to secure one if the bots don't beat you.

I've traditionally gone MSI but then an Asus will make this a 2K+ card or 2.5K plus card depending on rrp.

Hmm, not sure I’d be willing to get ‘anything’. If you’re going to spend that money, might as well be discerning…!

Just what I think will be the reality, if you want one day 1 if you see one in stock rush to checkout.

If you're after a particular model hopefully they show the designs off pre launch so you know which one to pounce on ahead of time.

I'm planning to try jump on an FE and hope that a waterblock is devloped. If anything I would hope the FE, among any 3rd party models, would see a block!

Zotac for me again if it has a decent heatsink. My 4090 Amp extreme airo has been perfect. Very quiet, fan barley goes passed its minimum of a 1000rpm a lot of the time, tends to max out at 1500rpm even under heavy ray tracing loads while staying at 60c to 65c, and auto boosts to 2820Mhz and pretty much stays there :)

Out of interest, what do the ‘nicer/more expansive’ cards usually offer?

better VRMs, more ampere capacity, but the FE's been a bang for buck value proposition for the past few generations, and its got great aesthetics and cooling capability as well, other than that i would believe that the FE's going to be the only 3 slot card

If was in charge and seeing all this talk about 2k and 3k cards, I’d announce on stage that it would be slightly cheaper if it was feasible to do than what the 4090 launched at. Internet would go nuts :D

I hate to say it but the 5070/ti could come in around £1000+ with all the talk of how high the 5080/5090 could go it makes sense the 70 class cards will be pricey, i really hope not, the ideal situation is another 30 series launch prices BUT loads more stock to avoid shortages and scalpers, give gamers a welcome break, probably never happen eh, but we can hope
