Not really interested in CDPR games anymore, just curious if its going to have all the hallmarks of a usual UE5 game like microstuttering and terrible CPU utilization.
 
It should not do, CDPR are working exclusively on the Nvidia branch of UE5 given their relationship with Nvidia, and CDPR are also inputting a lot of time into tailoring the engine to their needs as opposed to just sticking to stock UE5 like other devs do based on what we've been told so far.

The game isn't coming until 2026 anyway maybe even later, so fully expect it to be running at minimum on UE5.5 which has baked in much of the CPU optimisations needed and parallel processing that UE5 is currently missing.

No doubt, unreal engine isn't the cheapest engine in the business for no reason, you get what you pay for

But unlike a lot of studios, CDPR have a lot of engine experience to fall back on to tailor UE5 to their needs - hopefully they put that to use and it doesn't end up just looking/feeling like every other UE game.

I was under the impression all the experienced redengine devs left hence the switch to UE.

I was under the impression they made the switch because recruiting people with experience using UE is a heck of a lot easier than recruiting people with experience on a proprietary engine and it was hampering onboarding as they needed so long to train on it, but I neither work for CDPR nor know anyone there so you could well be correct.
 
They signed a 15 year contract with Epic for exclusive UE development back around 2022 time, Cyberpunk was the only game that would finish with the in-house engine. It's purely business related as one would expect from.... a business.

So:

5090 = 60% faster than 4090
5080 = 30% faster than 4080
5070 = 20% faster than 4070


Using TPU FE review numbers, that makes the 5080 about the same as the 4090 and the 5090 is 60% faster than the 5080/4090 and 5090 is 140% faster than 5070

The gap between the high end and mid range is getting bigger. When has the top card ever been 140% faster than the 70 series before lol. If SLI was still around you could have two 5070's in SLI and it would still be significantly slower than a single 5090, what kind of twilight zone is Nvidia creating here

thats actually old news, i believe those numbers have been extrapolated from B200 (vs H100) numbers
