Bladerunner 2 (Spoilers!)

On topic. The first trailers were good but I'm starting to get a feeling that it's going way too action over substance.

I'm also worried that given how far we have come technology wise in the past 30 years, most of the topics and stuff in this universe are going to have been heavily explored in RL already.....

Thing is, if the world changed, as the trailer with leto suggests, if he solved poverty, if he solved food shortages, maybe he even started to fix the issues with the lack of animals, then the world will simply be less bladerunnery.
He still says the planet is dying, so something is going on despite what the government he mets with think.

The dynamic has changed, the background has changed, so it can't be bladerunner, which is both interesting, and imo a shame. Although trying to follow on, or do something immediate would have been a mistake imo. Resetting things somewhat is probably the only way to attempt a sucess.

Tickets went on sale this morning at my cinema so I've booked up on the Thursday to see it. I can't wait now!

I would have quite liked to have seen it in the Imax, but annoyingly the only 2D Imax times were quite early on the Thursday and Friday and I really didn't want to see it in 3D so no Imax for me.

It was filmed 2.35:1 so I can't really see the benefit of IMAX in this case.

Getting weirder - the only vibe I'm getting off that is a scifi channel TV series. Wouldn't be surprised if it was called Total Recall.

DV did say he took the job because he didn't want anyone else ******* it up...his inspiration in his film career was Blade Runner.

Didn't like the original but I shall have to trust that Villeneuve chap has made something decent. Arrival is easily my favourite film of recent years.

Having watched Blade Runner Blackout 2022 along with the other two shorts, I have to say I cannot wait to watch this film!

I love the original and they all make me want to watch it again.

Heads up folks. The original Blade Runner is being shown in selected Cinemas Tomorrow night. The Showcase & Vue chains have 4K showings so this is a Once in blue moon opportunity.

Bladerunner for me is in my top 3 scifi films ever. Or as mack would say ....ever.....ever...ever .ever ....EVER (ding!) Its how many frikin years old and its still amazing to watch on Bluray. Anyway hope the sequel doesnt shatter my dreams like Force **** did.

Getting nervous its only a couple of months to ep 8.... dont think i can handle another **** up. ( i know wrong thread)

Really looking forward to this now. Some of the advanced screenings in the US have received amazing reception!

Only problem with anything like this is the insufferable fan base that stalks the internet. We get it, you like the original. Who doesn't...?

The attitude that something can never, ever be more then what it started as is infuriating.

Given how badly anything involving Ridley Scott seems to have gone lately, I've already written it off and assumed it will be cack... Would be nice to be proven wrong, on this one.

Yup, I took this opportunity in Basingstoke. It was amazing to see it on the big screen and the soundtrack was just soooooo cool up loud and bassy.

The film looks so good considering it's age, could easily pass as a modern film if it weren't for the shoulder pads and hair...
