Blame it on Hiphop

You don't say.
I hate Hip Hop and thats why I like Eminem because I don't think he is part of that genre (perhaps Infinite was because its serious and awful).
He's like The Macc Lads with looped music behind his words and continually taking the urine.

Another excellent display of your hiphop knowledge. Nuff said.

Anyone who says rap doesnt influence gun culture is sticking their head in the sand, to me rap will always be Run DMC, Eric B & Rakim, Public Enemy, not this "check ma bling and ma ho's and nix ma nine" crap that has saturated the airwaves. It stinks of self pity and 'anger' because they were black or under privilaged and the sytem hated them but look at me now with my $20'000 diamond encrusted chain round my neck, **** you for 3 million years of racial opression.....boo hoo.

But seriously, it affects kids, but so does the damn disney channel with all it's lip syncing robotic child stars turned singing sensations....my daughters want to be like this...*shudders*

Do you honestly believe that that phrase is a legimate way in which to attempt closure of a debate? Trust me, it's not and it really doesn't do you any favours.

Especially when I'd already declared that I know absolutely nothing about Hip Hop. Apart from being white Eminem is like no other Hip Hop artist. All he does is take the urine and he will NEVER know what the likes of his black friends go through or even you El Razur. He's had a few ups and downs like all of us have but he'll never have a black face and never experience racism.

You can tell I'm tired - even though I've read the title of this thread loads of times, I just read it as Blame it on the Hippo

I think I need a drink...

I love the way people who listen to hiphop claim to be the be-all-end-all of knowledge when it comes down to a debate about it

As far I was aware hiphop is more than just a few clever lyrics and a 'cool' fashion sense?? More info here

Erm ...who exactly said that?

Oh by the way some Hiphop back tracks do use Time-stretching.

I have and run 3 studios and yes, I have produced, mixed and mastered a number of genres including hip-hop.

To be honest, it's basically 'created' and requires much less talent than a band who play their music.. on the other hand, it does make the engineers job a lot easier as you don't have to time-stretch or key shift

Like i said before, time streched is used. If what you said above is real then you should know that time strech is used.

MPC2000XL
The MPC2000XL is similar to the MPC2000 but with added features; including four pad-bank keys, time stretch and resampling along with others new features. In 2004 the 2000XL-MCD version was released, which features a CompactFlash card reader as standard in place of the floppy drive or Zip drives used in earlier models.

[edit]
Features
16 velocity sensitive pads
Internal 3½" floppy drive or 100MB Zip drive
4 Pad Bank keys
Time stretch
Resampling
2 MIDI inputs, 2 MIDI outputs
Note-repeat key
300,000 note capacity 64-track sequencer
2MB sampling memory (upgradable to 32MB)
Optional effects board (EB16)
Optional 8 outputs and digital I/O board (IB-M208)
SCSI interface

If your beats and samples are already correct then there is no need for time stretching.

Don't blame it on the sunshine,
Don't blame it on the moonlight,
Don't blame it on the good times,
Blame it on the HipHop.

That's why Michael Jackson is a genius and ElRazur is a nobody.

Since when did time stretching have anything to do with quality of music? Was there a connection there I missed?

Dunno.
EVH made some comment about not needing to time stretch, El Razur found a machine that does time stretching to make his point but if all your samples are correct you don't need to time stretch.

To be honest I haven't got a clue what the Raz was going on about - again.

I'm with you so far, I just dont get why its important to the idea of whether Hip-Hop is worthy or not...

He's a confusing Nigerian, but he seems good spirited.

As far as hip-hop is concerned, when its done well its good, when its not its really not.
It does glorify violence, although whether it actualy makes people want to go out and committ violence is another thing.

Why would people wanna dress like a common chav as above?
I dont think many people on this forum actually know what a chav looks like here is a pic of some chavs, notice the lack of hiphop style clothing i.e dark blue baggy jeans etc.

Chavs wear trackie bottoms (Nike shocks), hoody or jumper withe enormous sport logo, trainers. Most of them listen to hardcore, i hear it blasting out of their Novas every single day. Of course there are exceptions and they don't all conform to this dress code/music preference, but 99% do as i see them every day.

If that's what chavs looked like up hear, I'd easily go ask them for a light. They look clean?

Up here they wear tracky bottoms (ripped and muddy) with black or brown rockports (worn and muddy), they're mostly skinheads and wear oversized berghaus or rockport jackets with a lacoste striping jumper (ripped and covered in burn holes).

You make eye contact and geta baseball bat to the skull.

(maybe a slight over-exageration but they don't look like that pic, they're more of the tamer chav) :)

Thats what they look like in Burnley, which is a fairly rough place. The point I'm making though is that chavs at least where i live don't dress like Rap stars.
