5UB. You are into your magic card tricks aren't you?

I have a friend who does magic and amazes everybody with his card tricks in the pub on a night out (and it's great for him to pull with the women as well)

Some of them I know/can see how he does them but one trick always baffles me and that's the one where you pick a card and then after some posturing/padding the trick ends up with him throwing the pack of cards at a window and then the person's card is stuck to the glass on the other side of the window.

I have seen him do this two or three times in the pub now and I have seen it done lots on the tv and always assumed that there must be an accomplice who puts the card selected on the other side of the glass but I just can't see how he does it when it's just at random times on night's out unless one of our other mates in is on the trick.

Would you like to tell me or at least what the trick is called so I can google it please?

Also, he is practicing his new trick - Sam the Bell hop (well he says he has been for 7 years now but still not quite mastered it) which is this one:

He says it's really hard and much harder than the card through the glass.

That performance is just awful imo. Really cringe-worthy and awkward. The trick doesn't look that hard either - although I'm not a magician.

Not sure into card magic, just magic in general. :)

I cannot reveal secrets, I am sorry. :) - There are a few various effects similar to Sam the Bellhop, some have been posted above, I like the idea behind it and can be very clever. :)

The Bellhop just looks like false cuts/shuffles with a prestacked deck, I think. The real talent is in the story telling I reckon.
