From all the reviews I've read, its been said that the game is easy and linear until you get onto the 3rd disc. Then it becomes a better game and lets your explore a lot more.

Great game, reminds me of ff7 in so many ways which is probably the reason I like it so much.

1st disc took me 22hours but have seen some do it in 15 hours, its depending if you rush it or explore every nook and cranny, 2nd disc took me 15 hours but i think i missed out a whole area (flying fortress in the snow desert) but i'm not sure as i was exploring and skirted around that area looking for chests and monsters and met that purple guy in his base which had lots of end bosses but manged to do (just), then it asked for disc 3, of which i'm about 7 hours into now.

I'd agree with that. Just missing the serious edge Septhroth brought to that game at the moment though (3 hours in). Was anyone else surprised when the main character swears? it seems a bit out of context to the rest of the game so far lol.

Just tried this out for you, english subs definitely work with the Japanese soundtrack.

Feeling really tempted by this as I love the Final Fantasy series. So many Xbox Elite deals have it thrown in for free, so I'll probably get it with my elite

Atleast I know I can waste a lot of precious final year uni time on this game, was hopping bioshock would be longer than it is but that will probably get completed before I even get back to uni!

what level shoul i be then im on disk 2 just after the laser moon, im currently lvl 28.

Shu is in 43 shadow level

should be fine, make sure you keep a couple of characters with white magic for healing, you'll need them towards the end of disc 2.

I'm on around 30 hours and I've just started disc 3.

Still loving the game, especially as I can go back now and grab things I missed.
