BMW 97 540i - PICS (at last - 56k hmm)

I also found this in the boot when I got it home...

It looks like a pro install.

And in either side of the boot I found.

Fuse & adapter thingy.

I suppose there are worse things you could find in your boot when you by a new car...

Wow, I'd have a punt on that for that price too. It looks in really good condition and it surely makes a lovely noise?:D
Good deal mate and I hope it turns out to be reliable for you!

You gave it a thorough check over then? :p

You should really check the boot floor when buying cars....

Heh heh I did check the boot, but TBH didnt see the amp. The boot is quite long. All I did was check the spare wheel space for rust etc... There was also a golf bag hiding it if I remeber correctly.

Simply staggering car for the money - well done.

I'm still really, really worried that 6 months down the line this car is going to make a serious dent in your savings - its why ultra high mileage ones are so cheap - but I really hope I am wrong. Enjoy the car..

... and add facelift lights and Sport pack. Then your £2.5k car will like a £20k car.

Total bargain there mate.

The only thin about the V8 in the 5 series is that its a big heavy lump for the car, and I believe you get a less sophistacted stearing system (different rack or something?). Overall makes it less nice to drive than the 3 litre six.

Bet it sounds good though! :D

It'll be a shame when the real owner tracks you down and you get done for recieving stolen goods :p

Only kidding - I am just jealous! I am hunting a E46 3-Series currently and got ma eye on a sweeeet 325i Sport.

Totally agree and Im 100% convinced it will.
But, if hes prepared and willing to cover those costs then fair play.

Looks gorgeous, my mate had a 540 auto for a while and it was just an awesome way of getting around.

My dad just got a 2002 528i e39 with sat nav & tv etc to replace an aging 1997 model. It has split rim alloys which although in good condition are a bit fussy looking. The old e39 has some really nice mint 15 spoke bmw alloys (£1200) but switching them over will probably make the old BM much harder to sell.

Where did you get those M-tech wheels for £565?? My dad is pretty paranoid and won't touch replicas which I presume these are.

Also what are you using to clean the leather with. I got some Mer leather cleaner and it's **** ...doesnt shift a thing.

Don't swear! FF.

Are the wheels branded at all? I think replicas would be ok if they were at least from a reputable company.

PS: Fantastic car!

Unless you put the wrong size tyres on you will only get replicas.. they are M5 wheels so the originals are 245 front and 275 back.
