BMW and M Power Owners

Quick question - my car (Z4) is due a brake fluid change, seeing as I have a BMW warranty on it does this need to be done at BMW or can I just use an independent?

Comes to £90 looking at that website, £70 for fluid change plus £20 for the 'standard scope charge' which is compulsory.

Will also see what my local garage quotes.

Hopefully someone will know the answer to this with so many owners here.

I'm looking at BMW approved used and would like to go for their BMW select finance. Looking on the used website, it only seems to show up BMW select finance figures on certain cars, hire purchase figures for others and no finance info at all for some.

I want to go down to local dealer tomorrow but wondered if anyone knew whether they will offer the BMW select (pcp with balloon) on any used car or is their certain criteria?

Hoping I can get an F10 530d m sport in under my monthly car allowance from work and it looks like that would need to be as a PCP.

They will offer PCP on all used cars but why would you want it? The interest rate is fairly poor and on used you don't get the big manufacturers offers and supported Apr like you do new.

Better off using cash or a bank loan for used ones.

You will end up paying more for your car by getting hooked on lower monthly payments.

To be honest, I'm just looking at getting the best car I can for 3-4 years at a time.

I have a max budget of £375 per month to spend and don't want to put a deposit down as I'm looking at buying a new house in the next few months.

This budget doesn't seem to get me into anything new that I'd class as premium unless I can drop on a particularly good lease deal.

As an example a £21k 530D M Sport is £360 p/m with no deposit. While not the cheapest way to own this car, I'm not sure how else I could get it to fall within my car allowance.

A 21k M Sport is going to be low spec and high miles or pretty old though - probably 4 years old for a good spec car which seems a bit nuts?

What sort of mileage do you do and can you pull a decent deposit together? If you are trying to buy a good 530d with little deposit and a Focus on monthly payments you are going to end up paying big money for quite an old car imho.

The voice of reason..I guess you are right.

Wife will be having the Focus as her Renault Zoe goes back in 5 weeks. Then the plan was to get back into something interesting.

I'm currently doing 15k per year but that will be cut down to 10k from now onwards.

Would struggle to get more that £1k deposit together before we need another car in Feb.

Edit : Just seen that they are doing the 520d brand new for £299 per month and zero deposit at Williams BMW. As much as I'd want a 6cyl, that's quite a nice deal!

Edit 2 : Think I'll head up to BMW to get familiar with the current models and specs. Lost track since the E46. Cheers for the advice.

BMW dealers don't charge much for the fluid change to be fair.
