I'm not denying it doesn't look good but I have set myself a limit and I don't want to go above it unfortunately.

If a 430d comes in the bracket I'm looking in, I'd consider it but I'd assume it would be higher tax cost (not checked) also higher insurance group again not checked. All of these I don't really need...

I find the 2 litre engines usually in BMW diesels have good enough power and torque for what I want .

With regards to engine noise. I'd have to sit a 420d Vs 430d side by side and listen for myself.

paddles/screen (&hk) keep you eyes on marshalls they have auc dealership, but pass stuff down just outside that on 12mth warranty

Having a 428i GC M Sport, you definitely want the bigger screen.
