BMW and M Power Owners

I'd be wary of that mileage for a start - 89,999? Nah, especially when the pic of the dash shows it turned off but in all the others it's on just out of shot.

I was a little wary about the mileage also, but MOT certificate, HPI check and service intervals (BMW) all were fine.

The mileage is actually 90,003 at the moment - he said when he put it up it was on 89,999 and the mileage has been adjusted as he's moved it around his garages.

(I'll assume he's also left it at 89,999 to keep it under the "up to 90,000 miles" in autotrader).

The service would be done by an independent BMW specialist in Amersham http://www.cpcpe.com/

Far too much to spend on an e61 that hasn't got particularly low miles (not that I'm saying its high). There's no real benefit to you as it's not as if it's approved used.

Why not go a year or so older and spend under ten grand? You'll still be into a car with around 100k and a 2007 onwards is still lci

OK, that's an interesting perspective - thanks.

I've certainly been looking around the 2008/2009 models and (in staying with the spec and condition I want) I left like this one wasn't particularly badly priced but I'm certainly no expert so appreciate the advise.

Thanks - what should I be looking to pay then for that model/spec/year/mileage?

Glass valued the car at £13.6k trade and £12.3k private....

Lol :) thats the dealers/traders game though right.

Looks like the general consensus is too much money - I'll keep looking! In no rush, and the closer to 12k the better.

thanks

Was the suggestion not to look at slightly older ones and spend 10 instead? As you're not getting approved used or cheap warranty mileage for 12k

Meh, it's about what its worth, its only 'too much money' from a 'you spent HOW much and got acar that came out in 2003' perspective. If you want a 2009 E61 then thats about right. Plus it'll have the more modern CIC iDrive in it as well.

I'm personally far more interested in what it will be worth if I want/need to get rid of it.

On a car of that age if there's a£3.5-4k trade tovresale difference (there might not be, hence check) then in absolutely out

The big benefit of an approved used example like that is you'll get a years free, excellent warranty - not sure whether they can realistically give you two years but would be worth exploring.

On the flip side I'd expect an approved used example to be quite a bit more expensive than you could find the same sort of car for elsewhere - depends on your priorities really.

I went and saw the 2008 AUC 530d today. Bodywork and wheels were great, but the 59 plate from the Indy was generally in far better condition - I was surprised (because its AUC, not because of the age) with the amount of scratches and general condition of the interior.
