BMW and M Power Owners

I don't know about you, but I don't know anyone with a flat disc shaped head :p

Thanks for the garage recommendations, I have sent Hind Hill an email, I'll call if I don't get a response but they look good. PJ didn't really answer my question when I asked how much a full on checkover would cost and are trying to upsell me to an "inspection service" but it's just had oil, air, microfilter done anyway. So just want brake, coolant, gear fluids checked, suspension components and make sure my engine is not one of these timing chain dud's :)

Exactly the experience I had with PJ, I was asking about cam position sensor diagnosis and they were more interested in convincing me it needs an inspection II (how convenient!) which it doesn't, it's just an oil service next, sure Hilderstone garage will do you proud, tell them Paul with the Silver 530i sent you by recommendation. :)

What were you coming from?

I'm not remotely precious about any car I've owned, but I can't honestly say I've ever noticed lifeless steering in mine and I've had a ferrari, two porsches, two subarus, an m3, a supra etc.. etc.. If you want to discuss a 'detached' steering feel, try the gtr, but even then you are still involved in the drive. You make it sound like driving the z4 is akin to using a console controller.

I might also add the z4m I drove didn't strike me as that much better, placebo?

Only got one from an old blackberry, all the others were on uploadit.org and it went bust :( posted plenty up over the year or so we had it:

awful car for driving around town, awesome fun in tunnels though

The internet is full of very, very extreme opinions. Things that are marginally different become chalk and cheese after they've been discussed on the internet for a bit...

They are a bit different, I remember when I took the M out for the test drive one of the first things I mentioned to the sales guy was the steering feel. But I never hated the steering in the non m when in sports mode, in normal mode I found it too light compared to my FR I had before.

But if the choice was a Z4 or no Z4 I would chose Z4.

Thought I'd tackle the OFH gasket today. Got stopped straight in my tracks as I do not have a 32mm spanner for removing the fam. So I've ordered the removal tool and I'll tackle it on the weekend.

How hard is it to find a reasonably priced E92 335i in a decent spec?

I've been looking for a 58/09+ plate with CIC (updated I drive), black leather interior and either manual or DCT (this came in in MY09 I believe). The vast majority seem to be highly priced at £17k considering this is now a 10 year old car.

What is the service schedule like? Is there any 'big' services at 80k-100k miles, such as belts, chains or waterpumps?

As far as I can see, these are on BMW condition based servicing with sensors calculating intervals which can be seen through I drive. From looking at e90post forums there are only recommended servicing schedules that users have come up with themselves.
