BMW and M Power Owners

If you post pics of a car in a discussion thread you get discussion about the car. It isn't even yours so why are you bothered that people don't like it?

I get its not everyone's taste, but replying in such a distasteful manner is rather low.

Yes even I agree I'm not all for the blacked out look, not my cup of tea. But in person it does have some substantial road presence and I do like a lowered car on big wide rims.

Rest assured it will be the last time I post pics of the car up :)

Love the wheels, however its going to scrape all over the place that low. :)

We're actually quite surprised that it hasn't scraped anywhere. Clears big Road humps without issue 2 up.

Following on with another (slightly older) Zed. Will have owned her a year next month - still loving it! Kicking myself slightly as when I was looking to get into Zed ownership last year, the Z4M Coupes were nowhere near as much as they are now. They seem to have appreciated a good few grand in those 12 months!

BMW engineers have spent years in total man-hours in research and development to perfect the suspension and handling on the Z4

Perfect suspension? If it had magnetic/adjustable dampers then maybe. But it didn't.

The stock suspension is always a compromise and a middle ground to keep the majority of its customers happy enough. The car still has some unwanted body roll when pushed.

only to have it ruined by someone getting theirs lowered :(

Another duff comment. The car is on KW Coilovers, not some cut springs. I'm guessing KW know a thing a two about suspension. The roll has reduced noticeably and the car now feels more planted around corners than ever. The interior creaks have even been reduced.

That Black Z4 looks excellent, especially love those wheels. I wouldn't have thought I'd like black on black but it works imho.

Stupid comment is stupid. Nothing is perfect, no matter how long engineers work at it, of course you can improve performance/handling with aftermarket mods . For his personal preference he wants firmer suspension and lower centre of gravity - I wouldn't do it myself as I find the ride harsh enough without, but at least it isn't slammed. As for all the hate about not having the right rims, pff if it looks good (which in at least 50% of people's responses on here it does) and he's happy with it how can you say it's the wrong ones - is it only acceptable to have OEM wheels on cars these days? Seems like BMW snobbery tbh.

I think the "duff" comments are your really defensive reaction to nothing more than forum talk.

It's a car, not even your car, why are you so defensive? Are you that upset that people have opinions?

It irks me that some people posting utter nonsense and spouting it as fact.

Read above about opinions.

Yep we have a similar POV.

I can't figure out if ~£15k for an e63 6 series is too much money for the car or a lot of car for the money?

This one has an amazing spec but is crucially 1 year before the iDrive was upgraged :(

The upgraded ones do seem to command a bit more:

Could stick a BMW warranty on either, especially as they're under 60k miles.

Doesn't look like the 2009 one has the CIC, looks like it has the newer controller but not the system? My 2009 550i screen looks like that I think... worth checking as if it is CCC then I would try to scrape the money together for one with CIC if that's important to you as I hate my CCC and I am seriously looking at the $3500NZD to retrofit it to a CIC unit its that bad.

Yeah my other idea is just to get it retro-fitted. As good as Google maps is, I just want a car with decent nav!

Lovely spec on the silver one. DAB, Headsup Display, Active Cruise and... Night Vision!

I didn't think it was possible to have just the controller, I will have to have a look closely.

You are right, it hasn't got it.

For some reason the E63 got the new controller from late 2008 but not the new system for while aftr.

That's very handy to know!

Does the BMW Warranty cover the essentials on the E63? Turbos etc? I need to do some research.

I like that Black Z4, it doesn't look BORING. Ooh... can of worms for the ones who are hating on it perhaps.

Not sure if its clear enough in the pic but the wheels are finished in satin and look so much better in person. Rears are 10J and the concave is about 3". The fitment is spot on.

Easiest way to tell is the old system has two disc drives.

Warranty covers everything that matters as long as you go comprehensive.

Fox delivers, as usual!

For £92 a month the warranty sounds well worth it! Just looking at the policy now.

Thanks Rybo. 3 litre. It's getting quad eisenmann pipes next month.

Quad pipes on a non M though... :( It won't be fooling anyone but those that don't really have much interest in cars so I don't see the point in mods like this :( Those that know, will just quietly laugh.
