BMW and M Power Owners

Quick question for anyone in the know - is there a way to program the F30 to show a digital read-out of speed on the dash? I'm sure I've seen it before but think it was only on North-American models.

Quad pipes on a non M though... :( It won't be fooling anyone but those that don't really have much interest in cars so I don't see the point in mods like this :( Those that know, will just quietly laugh.

It's the look and sound he wants - who said he's trying to fool anyone? Sigh.

Yes it can be enabled through coding.

Why are you so defensive? It isn't your car, it isn't your choices that people are airing opinions on so how is it worth getting riled about?

what are you banging on about? I'm replying to his post as why he chose that specific exhaust. Instead of someone trying say he got it to look like something it isn't i.e. M car.

Why are you being so defensive about a poor looking car which isnt even yours?

My comment was 100% valid and factual though. He won't get the Z4M sound from just the quad pipes either. \If he wanted a more fruity sound then Supersprint and the like do far better direct swap exhaust options designed to improve the sound and exit airflow.

Yeah but you didn't go "That's sik blud". So he's just not interested.

Face it. If it isn't oem or emmbruv ocuk bmw crew doesn't care.

Exactly.

My CAI isn't OEM, front indicator bulbs are LED, boot badge is the newer smaller size variant, boot aerial isn't OEM, head unit isn't OEM, paint isn't OEM! The list goes on :p

On another note....

Did my self a lil bit of modding! Pretty impressed with it aswell:

What features does that give you? :)

Have just got the blanker plate in my arm rest at the moment and have never bothered to get a phone mount for it as I can stream music over Bluetooth or using the USB in the arm rest, so haven't seen much of a point. I'm guessing it's much more useful for cars without a combox?

What can be done to my 07 Z4M with a PC connection and some software? One thing that annoys me is that when I lock the car, the indicators flash to let me know its locked, but they don't when I want to open the car. Can this be turned on easily? Can I turn off the no seat belt dong? How about the roof opening with the key?

Yes to all those except the seatbelt noise. You should always wear a seatbelt when the car is moving anyway!

You can do those codings the short way by using a cable and smartphone app (Carly for BMW), or the long way by using a cable, laptop, and lots of faffing with software which may or may not be partially in German.

I have mine set to make no noise or flash any lights when unlocked. The fob's range is very long, and I don't want people to know my car has pocket-unlocked by accident, if that ever happens. I do however have a beep and lights to flash when locked, so I can lock it from afar and see that it's locked.

Be pointless to you then really, i think.

What i did was open the snap cradle up and put a few holes in it so i could plug in a AUX neatly.

Meaning it'll always be charged and ill have music on the go and its hidden away nice and neatly under the armrest. Doesn't have to be removed as the the power to the snap cradle shuts off once the engine is off, so i don't have to worry about the car battery being drained.

Yeah my other idea is just to get it retro-fitted. As good as Google maps is, I just want a car with decent nav!

Lovely spec on the silver one. DAB, Headsup Display, Active Cruise and... Night Vision!

I didn't think it was possible to have just the controller, I will have to have a look closely.

Yes you can have the controller and not CIC, CCC update 2 enabled the new controller prior to the CIC release; it seems as if the E60/63 didn't get the CIC updates till 2010 and the new release models.
