Reading your 'review' makes it sound like a supercar.

Also, if you took those photos I'm a Dutchman.

By strength of extreme fate, they also happen to be getting a Black 535d 7speed Auto SMG Drive Logic model! but I dont see BMW listing this, so it must be impossible!

Also, you've all failed to mention why BMWs site shows the 530d with only one 0-62 time (when all the others have a bracketed time for the Autos), and the 530d spec says 6spd manual, yet it is readily availble in Auto format.

Oh well, I guess its just not possible!

Ah of course, so we can't check the BMW Approved Used site, can we ;)

Interesting how this dealer, despite obviously retailing mostly very high value cars, appears to have no web presence and doesn't have the state of mind to advertise his cars on Autotrader.

Most odd. But then, his stock does sound most odd as well..

And you've failed to mention that CO2 and MPG figures are given for both auto and manual versions for the 530d, and not for the 535d.

So, tell me again why BMW themselves say that the manual gearbox that they buy in can't actually cope reliably with the twin turbo diesel engine?

If they're buying in Tremecs, and the T56 isn't an option due to it's size (which I think may well be the case), then I'm not surprised that they don't offer a manual. And if the BMW car builder on the website says that you can't have a manual 'box, then I'm inclined to agree with it - after all, why wouldn't they allow you to order one from the damned website if it was possible?

But hey, been wrong many a time before. I'm in Coventry tomorrow, and will be passing the big dealership on my way into the city, so I'll stop for a quick chat there. That does of course hinge on them actually letting me in after I upset the head sales drone last time I was there, he didn't seem to like me pointing out all the marks and nicks to potential customers on the supposedly mint Cooper S that they had.....:D

I called my local BMW garage today posing as an interested customer of a 535D. I told him that I hated automatic boxes and couldn't see a manual on the website and asked if it would be possible to have a manual fitted.

In a word he said no, not at the minute. He said they *MIGHT* do one in the future but as far as he was aware, it isn't available at present.

Take from that what you will.

Come on then Oracle, are you gonna fess up or just ignore this and hope it goes away?

I think he's unsubscribed from this thread in the hope that if he doesn't see it the rest of us won't either.
