Yeah, friend did exactly the same, removed the smallest bit and cut the bigger bit in half

I love car noises, but even I thought it was too much with it all removed

It's a tube that goes from the air filter into the footwell that basically increases the noise you hear in the interior from the engine

Cosmic I had the BMW Performance Carbon Fibre splitters and go them sprayed on thursday and re fitted them because there was a massive stone chip in one that had cracked the clear coat.

You can get them from BMW or get them on ebay. There about £100 posted on there

MrLOL the noise generator comes off the air intake and allows a little sound into the cockpit. You can adjust the amount by removing these bits of foam.

Well the thing was he seemed to think the SMG v manual thing was personal preference (ie if he test drove it and liked it then why not) yet every peice of advice given was that it's more than that, it's a fundamentally flawed and inherently unreliable Alfa Selespeed based system which is nothing like the considerably better SMG2 system. Confused me that after learning this he bought one anyway, thats all. Especially after posting the first thread on it, getting a load of replies then posting the same thread again a week later

That said its obviously done now so I hope he's one of the luckier ones and the car gives him no trouble
