Bohemian Rhapsody

Please don't fox it up. Please don't fox it up ... please ....

Personally kind of glad SCB isn't playing Freddie, I think his ego would get in the way. Rami Malik plays understated beautifully.

I had worries initially. But, they're slowly receding.

Rami Malek looks to be doing a great job as Freddie, but Gwilym Lee looks scary close to Brian...

I really hope this is great - but I am always going to wonder what it could have been if Sacha Baron Cohen took the reins...

No doubt about the music, but what is it about Mercury's middle class, untroubled life that he deserves a bio-pic ?
Where's the drama, conflict gonna come from, OK we know the sad ending, but I wonder if it will be a mess scriptwise.

It will certainly shift shedloads of soundtrack CDs, full of tracks we've already got on dozens of other CDs, thanks guys.

I despair of Taylor and May getting involved in such tawdry and mawkish ventures, meanwhile Deacon continues to enjoy
his quiet no-celeb life of being a normal family bloke.

This version is going to be very different from the one SBC signed on for due to May not wanting the film to touch too much on Freddie's personal life.

If it's a film about Freddie then it's a bit pointless. I've followed Queen since before the first album and Freddie's life, especially in the 80s, was always known and he made it known how promiscuous he was. If he was in a Berlin Gay Club he was the guy on the swing.

If its 1/3 as good and flambuient as Freddie was it should be good, I just which the band had less input, so it would have been closer to the real life events.

Im intrigued to see this, I saw one comment which said that the film cant do Freddie justice because how can you portray a guy who led a very 18 rated life in a PG rated film.

Nevertheless, tickets are booked so tomorrow I will find out what I think of the movie.

Watched it last night - I thought it was fantastic and I think Freddie would be proud

Wife was a teary mess in parts and I just about held it together - moments of goosebumps and awe - what a life! what a voice!

*scurries off to watch the 1985 Live Aid concert*

Watched it tonight too. It was brilliant, very surprised how moving and entertaining it was. Rami Malek absolutely kills it and probably the performance of his career. Very fitting tribute to Freddie and Queen.

Just got back from the film, solid 8/10 for me. Rami was good but the guy who played Brian May absolutely nailed May imo.

Funny thing was, that as I watched the film and it entered the final 20mins or so, I got a really strong feeling of regret and loss. Not about Freddy, but about the old Wembley. Really hit me how much I miss that stadium.

Not going to see Queen at the old Wembley is one of my regrets.
