Exactly my point, instead of people spending it on car leases etc to Willy Wave. Money can go towards a deposit if they really want a mortgage.
I wouldn't blame the parents, some people are crap with money and refuse to change.
Sounds like a good plan.It is really. If my daughter ends up going to Uni and getting a job but needs to live with us. I have no problem with that but a slice of her earned will go to me which will go into an account for her future mortgage.

Then they move to where the jobs are. My parents and grandad did from another country to the UK, easier these days with the internet and the knowledge of gaining new skills.

I’m sure there are some financial service jobs up north, but most assuredly not worth bothering with and no doubt hotly contested for what little there is.
