My local Aldi has a couple Indian girls working there and the one just a bit further away has a black guy that always looks stoned off his head and speaks with a heavy Jamaican accent.
I really like Booths, their products are really good, they have a fantastic range of craft beers too. Shame my nearest is 45 miles away in Keswick.

this is where buying online is so much better. can search for price pre weight. easily see what deals are on. Also none of this, lets split it up on different isles rubbish.
Is it Aldi that keep releasing them adverts stating you can save loads on shopping with them? Then you realise they are actually just comparing their food to the price of branded food?

I tried that once but their minimum spend was pretty high, so I ordered a load of stuff I didn't need. When the delivery guy came a fair bit didn't arrive due to being out of stock (my local is quite small). It might be worth doing if you have a large shop nearby though.

not sure it has anything to do with size of local shop as ocado is kind of separate to waitrose.
tend to get store cuboard and other long life stuff from online. then supplement with meat and veg from normal shops. which means you can easily get above minimum spend without wasting anything.
I now detest trying to find more specialist items in store, as you have no idea if they even stock it or what one of like 4 isles it could be in.
the other thing I like is it saves shopping cart, so I can add stuff as and when I run our or think about it, then its already in basket when I actually do an order.

I do the same, but with Tesco. They have a lower minimum spend and delivery can be as low as £1. Plus never had an issue with items being out of stock even when ordering in bulk the day before. I used to shop at Waitrose regularly and must admit their customer service is good both for in store and home delivery. But you pay dearly for it with some things. When products are identical or there is no appreciable difference between shops then I'd rather keep my hard earned for other things. I remember paying nearly a fiver for a bunch of grapes once. I was in the other day and oven pizzas were about £7 which is like takeaway prices.

I actually quite enjoy shopping at Aldi, i tend to go for the premium branded items though. They do some really nice burger brioche buns, the curry sauces are very nice, and they do some really nice pizzas.
THe only thing i do not like at Aldi is putting stuff through the till, there's no room to bag at the end, you're expected to dump everything in basket/trolley and move to the side to do your packing, and the cashiers fire your items through the checkout at lightning speed.
I do shop in waitrose...
That might be due to the fact I worked there for 6 years, or it could be due to the fact that it's the only supermarket in my town...
I wouldn't do a full week shop there though, but it's good for getting milk/bread when I run out.

No Booths down here in the civilised south, but there is a Waitrose near my work, its a very nice store, very clean tidy, the air con is lovely and has a nice feel to it. But would I do a weekly food shop there? Probably not.
