It is sitting at 85 on Metcaritic which I kind of expected, I've had a skim read of a few reviews and the author of the PCGamer is easily the most negative.

I dunno why he keeps complaining that the writing from Tales of the Borderlands was better. They were two different games. One's a graphic adventure, of course the writing's going to be better than a first person shooter with loot & level mechanics.

I don't really play for the story, it's all about getting those orange guns. Bah to PC Gamer.

Yeah it is a bit silly. Her is the outlier though so I think it might be more of a him problem than the game.

I have been hyped for a long time but a few things recently have put me off, most recently the implementation of Denuvo affecting performance.

PCgamer havent been a reliable source for reviews for many years

How so haha? I only just started subbing to them but might stop it actually, news moves too fast nowadays and tbh I'd rather have a video or podcast on in the background now.

They have a habit of underscoring good games and overscoring dross

Haha good to know dude, I'll keep that in mind. Tbh if you don't like Borderlands humour then I can imagine a whole games worth would sour you on the experience but maybe get a reviewer that doesn't hate it .

Yeah, its bizarre that in the review he mentions its bad jokes and how its just diablo with shooters...its kind of er. Yeah, thats Borderlands, bad jokes and guns. I assume you are familiar with the series mr reviewer?

I'll wait and see if the meta scores have shifted on Thursday night but I could do with waiting and playing stuff I already own, who do you want to play as first?
