Borderlands

Is that for all characters? Or a skill unlock?

All characters, it's just that characters have weapon-specific skills for certain gun types.

Soldier = Combat rifle and shotgun.
Berserker = Rocket launcher and fists.
Hunter = Sniper rifle and repeaters/revolvers.
Siren = No specific weapons skills.

Any character can wield any weapon and up their proficiency with it by constant use, but the above relates to class specific skills that improve specific weapons types.

Standard stuff then. Are the support and medic good/essential? Sounds more like my thing. Like the sound of turrets!!

Support is all about resuplying your team and such. Medic is well medic.

I'm a mix between them since Assault gives all the damage, medic gives extra HP and healing your team.

If you deploy your turret and have the skills your team will regen if they're near it.

If you're high in support the turret with drop supplies for them.

I'm aiming for a mixture of all 3 skill trees.

Cauterize is a direct heal ability, but I'm not going with it, and using the more passive (and slow) area effect heal of my turret.

I will upgrade my own damage, but not that of the turret (as it's not the strongest fighter) as plan to use it as support rather than any sort of DPS.

As I am currently solo-ing, my points have all gone in to maxing out my health, and a few in to the healing ability of my turret, meaning after a battle I can drop one to top up my health a bit.

Given how crap I am at aiming straight this seems a must for me!! :D

At level 5 with a shotgun you could fully heal someone in 1-2 shots.

The thing is, I still want my xp, so need to kill things, I cant be arsed with looking after everyone else as they run around like crazy, hence the healing turret option. They want health, go to the turret, lol.

Cauterize makes your friendly fire heal people.

One of my favourite ideas in Borederlands. I remember reading it in PC Gamer a while back. Think I will be going with the healing/supply turret. Although given how easy it is to move skill points I think I will try an assault turret for a little while too.

Doh, I thought most people would go for the Siren/Hunter, and my Druid past meant I didn't mind being support/healer... now everyone is going soldier, haha.

Still, 4 soldiers with 4 turrets out would be pretty immense I think!
