Borderlands

Just had this gifted to me through steam. Will get it preloaded overnight and have a blast on it some time next week (away for the weekend).

Looking forward to it.

P.S. It's NOT an MMO. It is nothing like WOW, it is an coop fps game with RPG elements. Kind of like Left 4 Dead, but with upgrades mixed in. Would you call Battlefeild an MMO? If so look up the genre definition. Most MMOs also require a subscription, which Borderlands does not.

P.P.S Fallout 3 is NOT an MMO either. :rolleyes:

Er yea, WoW was definitely the first game ever to have any kind of loot, levelling or multiplayer.

I didnt say it WAS an MMO i said a lot of its characteristics are similar to an MMO. Ill give people who have played MMO's around a week then this game will become BOREDLANDS.

I did not say it was the first :S look at the guns, greens, blues, epics , legendary. Google it dude and prove yourself wrong. Borederlands RPG element was made around the WOW playing style. Its been said time and time again in interviews.

FO3 is a SINGLE PLAYER, RPG with FPS elements. It is story driven (and thus has an END), sandbox and has an alternative combat system that is similar to the turn based system of traditional RPGs.

BL is a single but CO-OP intended FPS with RPG elements, focussed on loot farming and repeated run throughs at a higher difficulty level.

FO3 is Morrowind/Obilvion, BL is Diablo/Titan Quest, just because they have similar interfaces and settings does not make them comparable games.

What annoys me is people read things which are not there, then get clever about it over the internet. Everytime i come on this forum and make a statement people do this, i just mentioned why i think the game doesnt deliver. Keyboard muscles ftl.

Why mention something in a comparing manner if you are not comparing it to that?

Because i didnt not compare the game to an MMO, what i meant was if people have played an MMO in the past then this game probably isnt going to be for them. Statement over. Its an opinion nothing else.

I have seen a video where the developers said they based this game around WOW, COD and Diablo. Like i said you attempt to insult me after claiming im a troll after stating my opinion. Hypocrit comes to mind. No to mention you have just reaffirmed my above comment, about people not reading what people have written but read what they want to. Good luck in life.

Fair enough, I apologise for interpreting that differently then.

But to then go and say that FO3 destroys it, whilst being a VERY different game makes little sense.

I won't be playing at midnight. I've gotta wait for the other 3 members of my 4-pack (we actually designated ourselves as the characters about 2 months ago!) to be online...

One of them is working away all weekend so I won't be able to play until Sunday afternoon, argh!

Not decided on your final character yet? What are you going to start the game as?

I am leaning towards the soldier and offensive turret type build. But like you, that might change when I get into the game. Really have no idea atm.

I will probably wait until tomorrow morning, and then play during the day. Trying to get all of my work done now so I can get the time off
