For those sturggling with port forwarding and such download gameranger. It's a server browser/IM application for games.
You can host a borderlands game through that, works like a charm. Start a room, invite friends, click start. Borderlands fires up with you all placed in the lobby ready to go.
It works like a charm and saved so many headaches for my friends.

Amazing program, thanks for sharing it. Even after opening my ports still couldnt host a game properly, able to host games properly now

But that would be for a specific campaign? ie: You could pick up where you left off last time etc?
Sledge and Im only level 13,leveling up might do the trick?what do ye think?

they are class mods, they effect certain things about you and how you interact with your group.
Anyone found any decent Eridian weapons yet? Get myself a rifle, it's not too bad and I find myself using it about 90% of the time.

It picks up from where the host is in their campaign.

That's for "Fast Travel" - later in the game you'll find a way to travel around the world a bit quicker.
It's an issue with the game at the minute. See one of my posts further up the page about gameranger for a nice workaround.

Got my "Class Mod" at level 20, at which point Brick (who I'd specced as Beserker) became a "Centurion" and got me a class mod.
Specs were pretty poor - mainly it gives a talent bonus (+skill, like Diablo) and a group bonus.
Bear in mind that you need at least 1 point in a skill in order to get the +skill bonus, and it can go above 5/5 (even though it doesn't say so).

Founda few, but sold all except the shotgun. Might sell that too since it runs out of energy too fast.

well i joined someones game earlier and it was a level 36's even though it said level 10 in browser
ANyway, i got all his quests, so when i went to t.k.baha to give him his sunflower seeds i had like 3-4 level 21's come after me lol, they were hard to beat!! Anyway, his house opened up and i got a class mod, i'm now a level 17 survivor lol i also got a bloody awesome gun that i can't use till i'm level 22 lol. I also can't turn in that mission till i unlock the scooter section (at least i think it's the section with scooter, who knows lol!) I'm concentrating on the side missions, before i kill slade.

just a thought! Why is this game not boycotted for lack of dedi-servers and steam support?

Unless it's something to do with your team. I had a +8 Team Ammo regeneration which was an incredible bonus during the endgame. It's only when I started a new playthrough without it that I thought having to pick up or buy ammo was incredibly naff!
I've found two Eridian weapons - both were quite useless IMHO. I found a x4 fire submachine gun and used it practically through the whole game. Nothing else came close to it's awesomeness.
