Because it was designed from the ground up as a single player/coop game.

It doesn't have a standard multiplayer like COD does.

It doesn't need dedicated servers although steam support would be good, and may be brought in with a patch at a later date.

Because it's a maximum of four players, which 90% of residential broadband connections can handle just fine.

Because it isn't an competitive FPS.

Because it hasn't had four predecessors with dedicated servers.
 
Agree that this games single player mode is very good. Just completed the skagzilla quest and was lucky to get the epic verson of the elephant gun

but it has no scope !!! I'll going to try it out and see if i am still accurate with it.

Can someone tell me for guns with elemental effects, what's the difference between x1 x2 x 3 fire etc? The % chance of setting the mob alight? or more dmg from the effect?

I just killed slade :D I was level 19 and it still took me 3 attempts lol.

My final wining method, was to shoot him till his shield had gone then set bloodwing on him then fire 60 sniper bullets into his stomach till he was dead! I then ran all the way to arid badlands without turning around!

Strangely, I found him one of the easier bosses. I have this superb lvl 13 SMG with x3 Electricity which did insane damage at level 20 (and meant his shield was useless) - I basically ran up and down one side of his room and he walked back and forth while I zoomed in and got crits from shooting him in the face. Took about 500 rounds, but I got him in the end :)

you mean your xternal ip is dynamic or your Pc's is dynamic?


if it;s your external one, then no it wont mater, if it's your pc's then as soon as it reconnects it will be given a different ip by the router and the ports no longer forwarded to it.

was awesome up to 25ish then just got tired of it
this is the first game in a long time that kept us entertained for 6 long straight hours
after 25 it just went downhill all the quest were the same etc
so me and a m8 just rushed through it all to finish the game
was lvl 34 before the last boss.

The thing is, I don't know if my MP works perfectly, I have connected to a few games and all has gone well, I assume that means all is ok? I havn't been able to do any port forwarding yet as for some reason my computer doesn't like it and just throws up errors.

without port forwarding you should be able to connect fine but not host.

one thing i suggest though is turn of voice in game (through config) and have someone host a vent server.

Am level 44 now and dont have room for anymore money. Am really loving coop through the second playthrough with level 51 and 52 bad guys. It is REALLY challenging (especially at my level), but oh so much fun!!!

Cool, Steam has always worked fine for me in L4D, so I'm happy with that if others are.

So 2 slots open for a new level 1 game tonight from 7pm!
