this gonna be once a week again? I'd love to do it but once a week is a bit too frequent so I've had to miss out on posting even though I drink beer every week in the pub :(

Nothing has been decided yet mate.

That's the idea of this thread, firstly get numbers of how many want or think they might want to play. Secondly how we're going to do it.
 
Stick me down as as definite now, I've found some good shops local :D


As for ideas? As long as I'm buying and drinking I'm find with whatever.
 
Yeah nothing comes to mind as yet. I do like the half year length for a competition, full year seems like such a long time
 
Some ideas

J - Joke
K - Kangaroo (Australian)
M - Mythical beast or object / Micro Brewery
R - Russian
T - Turkey (Christmas)
U - Under 1%
X - X rated something sexy
 
I didn't know there were any beers under 1%

I like the xrated idea though.

How about the odd regional round?

Y - Yorkshire
L - Lancashire

The main counties should be fairly easily available.

Otherwise how about either

C - Copy
F - Fake

There seem to be a lot of countries copying other countries styles, english brands releasing "American style IPA's" or "Belgian Style beers"

i would like to see a beer round or several where we choose a large country and then chosse a certain letter beer. like belguim beer beginning with B, american beer beggining with A.

i liked the first comp when it was countries and we voted. you could then go one stage further and nominate a specific type or make of beer from that country, but have countries that have more than 3 beers!

and all the rules to be agreed before KICKOFF. saves the arguments.

The how we play it comes after the, what we playing ;)
 
Think we need to try and avoid repeating rounds. Maybe different counties of the UK. We have had scrabble a couple times but how about trying to get the lowest score or have a set score to aim for ( decided a week in advance to make it more challnging, random number generator).

When you say 'repeating rounds' do you mean within say the new mk.3 competition or previous rounds?

Good idea on Scrabble round lowest score :)
 
I'm all over SOL for lowest score! Unless we said it must have a minimum number of words/letters. Or we could set a number say 38 and see who can get closest :)

I think he means copying rounds from previous competitions, Numbers/Animal were used in both if i recall.
