Bleached potato.

Blonde is just a nice name for yellow, in the same way people use Auburn instead of reddish brown.

As for foreign languages, it's unfair to expect someone who is running something like this on their own to double check colours in different languages and deal with the resulting debate. There's ample opportunity to enter obscure beers from all over the world in other rounds. The rules are fairly simple.

But then so are some of the golden/ red ales, the white IPA and the black ales? Can't really see the difference tbh

True but red, black and white are colours. I personally don't agree with 'golden' as colour, it's no different to blonde in my eyes.

Simple solid plain colours. Example: blue, black, brown, red, orange, green, yellow, white etc.

We're not buying paint at B&Q or listening to the other half talking about hair shades.

More feedback from fellow 'Players'. Once we're in agreement I'll update the points for this week or add a poll if we fail on a majority decision.

Remember, we're debating the two zero scores.

The thing with 'blonde' is that the notes posted really do make it obvious that it's not allowed. "Solid, simple, plain colours", and the comment about not being a hair colour are quite clear really so I don't see how there can be any question about that.

DJ - I've not been involved in this BoTW thing before, is it like this every week? It's fun!

Blonde shouldn't be allowed as has been mentioned it is more a hair colour. Yellow would have been fine.
Neither should entries in different languages as the majority of participants speak English as their first language as otherwise it could get ridiculous, especially as it's just 1 person collating all this.

Golden I would allow.

I think the decision on mine is a little harsh, but I would say that, it is still a colour in the same sense that Black is a colour, I never saw the post that you linked to the reasoning behind the 0 points decision. Does it really matter if it's in French? Ah well, what ever decision is made is made.

Really? Isn't golden more an adjective than a colour?

So, does this mean that any beer in any language other than English should be disallowed from every round then?

Personally, I didn't even know about the different languages rule, so I thought this was a little harsh, especially when we use the word in the English Language (such as film noir). I do think blonde is used more to describe hair colour than the colour of a car, so I agree with this (sorry Silent:().

We use the word noir in such phrases as film noir. That is true.

That isn't a colour though...

Fair point. Well, I think DirtyJester's judgement is sound, and I will be re-reading the rules in case I missed something else :D
