Bought a PS3

your monitor will look ace with it :) hdmi to dvi cable. GO get one now.

I'm sure the ps3 displays 1080p through it aswell, just makes it fit. (dont quote me though!) If not it'll still look good as my mate had the pebble version of the monitor to his ps3

You play it on crappy SD THEN switch to the HDTV. ;)

I wish I could re-experience going from SD to 720P on my 360 back in 05. :cool:

Protip: Your monitor is "HD", the monitor will be 1680x1050 and with the right connections you can use your Playstation on it, it will be limited to 720P however.

720P = 1280x720
1080P = 1920x1080

Youll only be able to use 720p on the monitor though.

What is so great about XMB (scaling?) I noticed this on the W Sony series on the new 4000 model and as someone mentioned it being worth buying over a 46"

I don't see how screen size comes into the scaling, it's a resolution thing.

I'm not sure and too lazy to test right now but if you have your PS3 set to 1080P the XMB takes up less space and looks sharper, resulting in a cleaner look, on SDTV's for example the XMB takes up the whole screen, on my TV I have lots of screen space at 1080P.

Its quite an effective menu system, I personally find it v. efficent and pretty sleek and the intergration with it on the W series TVs and PS3s would be quality I reckon! Though obviously that alone isnt worth buying over the V 46". But W panels are 10-bit and have improved Bravia 2 engines which apparantly provides better PQ and colour depth or summat, they also have wider gamet back lighting and theres a few other things aswell like USB picture frame but cant really remember + the Sony logo lights up on the W-series lol!

Well its probably because I don't have an LCD TV that I got such a great deal. People telling me not to play on my CRT TV has put a big blow into that. Now I'm thinking of the W series Sony if it has a flashy light im SOLD!
