Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

I had a teenager in there parents car shout at me to get a real car :confused: I forgot I was sat in the middle of the road making car noises.

Haha, I genuinely felt he was just having a laugh as opposed to jealous or anything else. His expression and his passenger's was that of good bants.

The Navall does but I don't know if the Erisin does as I don't have HK audio Vita. No reason why it wouldn't though as they run the same OS.

I've decided that as wonky as the bumper looks, the adjustable cam does see both ends of the bumper and gives full visibility to about 5cm from the bumper itself which is about perfect for not whacking a low wall/kerb etc at the rear..

And LOL at the 'is that mobile skip?' Classic..Like you say, he sounded good natured!..

Mobile skip? Maybe he had an eagle eye and could detect it had been accident damaged? :p :D

Sounds like banter but certainly a bit odd!

I've been reliably informed by a top bloke who was a young whipper snapper back in the day that Mobile Skip was a joke for Skoda convertibles :p

Had a play with an Evo 7 or 8ish in the Z4M tonight, would have thought it would be closer with all his noise and pops and bangs, and what not, but I kinda obliterated him. Surprised me. I guess some aren't all that tuned but still make the noises.

Evo 7 is what, 270HP with 380Nm? Weighs about similar to the Z4 too so I'd imagine the higher revving S54 would be at a clear advantage in motion.

Skoda verts back then were skips on wheels^ :o

Had not heard the Eventuri properly from the outside yet, so during today's Sunday evening drive I set my phone up. Sounds decent.

In other news, M track mode isn't as slidy as it is on the CS and CSL. It triggers DSC only a bit later than standard allowing for a bit of slip. Guess that's where the faster steering rack and bigger brakes on the CS and CSL come into play. Better than instant anchor I suppose.

The little rpm switch just before the 4s mark was M Track working away. It was such a small slide it's barely noticeable in the video but was more obvious from inside the car. it didn't feel like it applied any brake but instead adjusted the rpm. In normal mode both brakes and engine power would cut in instantly.

I need to play about with this more to learn where it works best and where it doesn't. Not fully used to it yet and I don't have the skill to drive DSC off yet regardless of how much people keep saying these cars are predictable and easy to control :p

There are some of the config values that can affect the amount of over/understeer of the DSC, by how much I don't know..

It might be worth changing the CSL under/oversteer values and taking it out for a spin ;)

I suspect mine had been fiddled with in the past since it didn't have the cabrio_m ABS value or the PRE_MSR set correctly, so used the CSL values from the m3cutters thread which shows only the 'different' values:

Default M3 values in brackets:

TRAKTIONDIFFERENZREGELUNG = aktiv (nicht_aktiv)

DTC_LAMPE = aktiv (nicht_aktiv)

DRUCKMODELL_HINTERACHSE = typ_3 (typ_2)

UEBERSTEUERN_MUE_1_2 = wert_11 (wert_09)

UNTERSTEUERSCHWELLE_2 = wert_04 (wert_05)

UNTERSTEUERN_MUE_1_2 = wert_03 (wert_02)

LENKWINKELKENNLINIE_2 = wert_04 (wert_05)

Hmm so those values work fine for yours? Sounds interesting and worth a play I guess! I guess as I've done most of the work already, all I need to do is load up NCS, load up write mode and change the module to mk60 and process the task so the tweaked man file is flashed?

Not massively surprising, assuming it was a 7, most would have come out of the factory at ~300. Taking into account the increased transmission losses and different characteristics, I'd say he needed around 370bhp to be in contention, and that's pretty much the limit of the stock turbo.

This sort of correlates, as i've had some fun with a Z4M when mine was in the 375bhp trim (those were the days :( ) and it was very close then, with a Z4M stretching out at higher speeds.

It's sort of the reason that you always used to see people split between choosing S54 based BMW's and Evo's on the owners club forums, although the cars' features and target demographics couldn't be much more different.

Yep, I changed my settings 3 or 4 times and only did the final part of the instructions, although I did read the ECU first, modify the files, then write back.. I stored each set of files too just so I could revert.
