It might be worth trying Sazerac then - I would say Mitchers Rye is even better but its over £40 now. You could go for a Rye sample tasting set from MasterofMalt or The WhiskyExchange and see which ones you prefer more?

Yeah think I will try the Saz, as for the Mitchers. I have tried the sour mash, I think they are overpriced for the UK market which is a shame.

The Rye is generally better IMHO - I preferred it to Sazerac myself but I do think the price could be lower.
Sazerac is really good.

Admittedly I only tried that and Bullleit Rye which I didn't think much of, I really should try more Rye whiskey.

Got a bottle of Lot40 as I got it on Amazon for under £30. Tastes very different to Sazerac or Mitchers. The nose is far more herbal too.

Lot40 was really cheap with the subscription voucher glitch. I got a Deanston 18 for just under £30!
Was £20 for me, ordered a bottle I've never tried Jack Daniels Rye before.
For £20 worth a shot.
Jack Daniel's Rye is actually not bad at all.

Got a bottle of this over Xmas. I can see why some people don’t mind it but I couldn’t stand it after a while. That distinctive yet unpleasant JD signature is there, even with mixers.
Tried Louisville Kentucky Style (ASDA) blended bourbon.
Actually..... Not that...... bad? And £14 a bottle.

What is similar to southern comfort please? This is the only drink of this kind that i like, would like to try others.
No not really. Southern Comfort is like a liqueur.

never tried southern comfort .... but from google comments about it's spice/fruit - Black Bush whiskey ? is almost liqueurish
