Bourbon, Rye and American Whiskey

It might be worth trying Sazerac then - I would say Mitchers Rye is even better but its over £40 now. You could go for a Rye sample tasting set from MasterofMalt or The WhiskyExchange and see which ones you prefer more?

Yeah think I will try the Saz, as for the Mitchers. I have tried the sour mash, I think they are overpriced for the UK market which is a shame.

Thanks

Sazerac is really good.

I have a bottle on the shelf.

Admittedly I only tried that and Bullleit Rye which I didn't think much of, I really should try more Rye whiskey.

Jack Daniel's Rye is actually not bad at all.
Got a bottle of this over Xmas. I can see why some people don’t mind it but I couldn’t stand it after a while. That distinctive yet unpleasant JD signature is there, even with mixers.

Tried Louisville Kentucky Style (ASDA) blended bourbon.

Actually..... Not that...... bad? And £14 a bottle.

I've had worse, I'd drink this over regular black bottle Jack Daniels or Jim Beam.

The Aberlour 12 is only £30 on Amazon at the moment which seems a really good price. They've also lowered the price of the Abundah to £79.99 which is still too rich for my blood but might stick it on the Birthday list...
