Boxing Day Footie *spoilers be inside*

Kuszczak again shows promise tonight. I'm still terrified of the prospect of him playing in the champions league though. :p

Foster must be really kicking himself now, both of them have until the end of the season to show what they're worth, unfortunately I fear that we may have seen the last of VDS playing for us due to the tragic circumstances with his wife and I don't think anyone would blame him if he did retire mid season.

Good result for us, even better cos I absolutely hate pompey cos loads of people at work love them and for some reason think they are good, even if I do think their fan base and ground is full of pies and keys. Im gonna lol at work tomoz and might make a few jokes about being relegated and bankrupt

The prem is wide open which is nice!!

PIG has been doing well - but you hit the nail on the head, he would be flapping around unsettling Utd's defence against AC and thats really concerning.

I totally agree VDS needs (a lot) of time away in these circumstance, and while its unfortunate, its only right for him to be at home. I HOPE this forces SAF to buy a goalie in Jan, as even if PIG is undoubtedly no 2 he still doesnt have the quality for No1 (or even playing the best EPL offences)

Back to tonight's game - excellent performance and Utd where unlucky in the first half especially hitting the bar and post a few times. 2nd half (like usual) for about 20 minutes Utd relaxed instead of continueing to go for the throat- we could easily have been in the 30's for GD if the whole team kept working throughout the 2nd half (and given the table, Utd SHOULD have done this)

But then what if we'd pushed more and made it 7 or 8...but got an injury? Maybe to Rooney?

well then take him off and play Owen - but you cant really use that excuse as imo any player is just as likely to be injured in any game , playing at 0-0 or 5-0

I'm just saying it's not worth the risk of pushing it and getting injuries. How many times has the league come down to goal difference?

I hereby grant my approval of tonight's result.

Good win for the Arse earlier on. Wish we'd have kept a clean sheet but we still have the best goal difference in the league... just.

Nice to see Song finally get a goal today, he's been playing really well of late, all bar one or two little mistakes here and there, Diaby has looked solid too, he's got great feet for such a tall man.

Its more the psychological effect on the players if teams around them are scoring a lot more goals

I would also suggest its better to be in front - no matter what the stat - than it is to chase

Quite surprised that Rooney is the top EPL scorer this calander year, with 15 already this season it looks like he is on track to beat his record of 23
