Boxing Day Footie *spoilers be inside*

Ermmm did i just see Diaby score a goal??

Awesome vintage Arsenal performance \o/

3-0:D:D

A lovely 3 pts in the bag to keep us in the hunt for the Prem title:).

Don't be so shocked, he scored one and set another up last weekend :p

Great result for Arsenal today, hopefully Cesc isn't too badly injured but it seems like we needed his spark to get something out of this game and given Villa's league position, probably worth the gamble even if he is out for a couple of games. I'm pretty sure we face Portsmouth and Bolton next up, so hopefully Ramsey can fill in for those games.

Cue another dm rant about Wenger risking players though...

Brilliant game, that was really entertaining.

Forgot ashley young and milner were on the pitch they didnt have chance to make runs. Song has been a godsend this season imo.

His work infornt of the back 4 is brilliant. Starting to remind me of vieria

Still say vermaeelen is currently the best performing cb in the prem ;)

Quality display from us i thought, Villa didnt trouble us at all which was a big surprise. Nice little cameo from Cesc, he seems to have gained a bit of speed and a hell of a lot of composure in front of goal this season. Hopefuly he won't be too injured. Diaby was pretty awesome today i thought, his goal aside he did lots of great running and was in and about everything we did today. Song + the back 4 were solid too.

LOL yes he does play well when he puts his mind to it...i just wish he would be more consistent though as he can be a pretty decent player.

Well for a cameo appearance Fabregas definitely made an impact...scored 2 goals...one which was a stunning free kick.

I just hope hes not been injured too badly...we need him fit along with our other players.

2nd place at the moment, now just hoping Hull do over Man Utd:D

Well chuffed with the result, was very nervous about this fixture before kick off. We played well, dominated the game but I didnt think we were going to get the breakthrough until Cesc came out. Hope he hasnt set his hamstring back too far, but I dont blame Wenger for taking the risk.

Good performance by Diaby I thought.... good running and turning on the ball, won a couple of tackles, well taken goal. He is such a frustrating player because he has the ability and physique to go on to big things, yet lacks consistency - sometimes you see him giving possession away far too cheaply. I guess with Fabregas aggravating his injury, he may get a run in the side.

Arsenal were so good today, the work off the ball was great. Denilson, Diaby and Song looked great in the middle, especially defensively which is something all three have improved on massively, Villa barely had a sniff today. Nasri worked his socks off all day helping out down the flanks too, overall an excellent team performance with Diaby, Song and Fabregas shining. Two excellent games from Diaby in a row, when he plays well he's unstoppable. He could be a top midfielder in a few years

Edit - Great work from the CB's today, Vermaelen has been a revelation, one of my favourite defenders in the league atm

Arsenal have conceded more goals than the rest of the top four so far, what is he doing so well?

In other news, United have been awful (again) this half, there just is nothing going forward. Valencia, Berbatov, Giggs have done naff all, and Fletcher and Carrick, look like they have never played together.

Him and Gallas have defended well and they are the best partnership Arsenal have had in some years, don't know if you noticed but conceding goals isn't something that Arsenal usually care about, as long as they score more

Vermaelen is good in the air and excellent on the floor, his technique is as good as most of the club's midfielders, he hasn't made many mistakes and looks great against stronger defenders (he was very good against Drogba for 99% of the Chelsk game, dealt with Villa brilliantly etc.)
