Boxing Day Footie *spoilers be inside*

The difference between the two teams was Rooney, he was brilliant, thankfully he's my ff capitan :o

It's a shame he's so hot and cold because when he plays well he's one of the best

So much for Chelsea pulling away at the top.

Haven't looked at the table in weeks for fear of seeing how easily Spurs could drop into mid-table. :p

Had assumed Chelsea held a good lead.

I thought Utds game at Hull would be a horror show (unfit defenders, Rooney not really on form, and the team just not clicking)

Thank **** we got through it - a little luckily it has to be said - but Rooney really played well (and god if we have to rely on Park again it really is getting bad)

Three points was the main part about today and they got that - and yeaaahhhh Berba managed to score, it MUST be a good day hahaha

Really close at the top and it could go any way at all

Lets just hope the same Fulham team turn up tomorrow that did against Utd a few weeks ago - rather than the one that likes to be walked all over

Poor performance again really, but happy with the points. The thing that made me smile/laugh at myself was saying to my mate before the game that I almost put a scorecast on 1-3 with Rooney to score first. I was desperately hoping for a 4th at the end to feel better :D Never mind, I stick by not betting on your own team. Hoping things will gel a bit better after a few games of players actually being in their correct positions.

The problem with our team at present is that the lack of so called fit defenders is really covering up for failings in other parts of the pitch.

When I look at our front line, I think there is too much creativity and not enough of a natural predator. When things aren't going well, we switch to a god awful 3 upfront with Rooney or Owen on the left. Thats not where we need creativity though, it's in the centre of the midfield where we need someone who will make things happen around the box to free Rooney, Owen & Berbs up

Yes Berbatov's goal was one of the simplest you will see all season but it just goes to show that if he gets in the box he can come off defenders to score the tap in's, the same with Rooney and Owen. It's not happening enough at all and because nobody holds the ball up in midfield, we are inviting pressure onto us.

We really don't need to buy any more defenders what we need is a Van Der Vaart kind of player who can make things happen through the middle of the field and around the box

Right, where are the ***** who said the title-race was over a couple of weeks ago?

Let's hope Fabregas isn't out for too long. Against Portsmouth and Bolton though, I'm sure Ramsey can earn his stripes.

Isn't that two own-goals in two games for Hull now?

Arsenal were so good today, the work off the ball was great. Denilson, Diaby and Song looked great in the middle, especially defensively which is something all three have improved on massively, Villa barely had a sniff today. Nasri worked his socks off all day helping out down the flanks too, overall an excellent team performance with Diaby, Song and Fabregas shining. Two excellent games from Diaby in a row, when he plays well he's unstoppable. He could be a top midfielder in a few years

Edit - Great work from the CB's today, Vermaelen has been a revelation, one of my favourite defenders in the league atm

Are you trying to set DM off on one lol Dont compilment Denilson diaby and Song in one sentence! :D

That has been Diabys problem though, he can play brilliantly one game then have a nightmare in the next. Hopefully with Fab probably out for a few games then he can keep the performances coming. I havent seen the game but a 3-0 win against an in form Villa sounds good to me.

I wonder if DM has the decency to say something nice about Arsenal after this?

Right, where are the ***** who said the title-race was over a couple of weeks ago?

I'm here. I've said Chelsea will win the title and I stand by that. Not only do they have the best team IMO, they also have daylight between themselves and the chasing pack, and have the unexpected bonus of being able to deal in the January transfer market. Their closest rivals (in points terms) have more injuries at the moment which should compensate for the effects of the ACoN.
