Paddy Barnes had a really tough first round fight, described at them both beating the tripe out of each other, he lost.
Ireland not having a great start to the games.
 
Judging and reffing has been really poor in the boxing. Chap gets a standing 8-count against his opponent; every judge scores the round 10-9 :confused:

And in the current fight, the French dude gets floored for an 8-count and is clearly suffering so he spits his mouthguard out to buy extra time and the ref just lets him get away with it. Shocking.
 
Wow, men's light heavyweight 81kg Joshua Buatsi just knocked out the tournament number 3 seed russian boxer! One win away from a medal.
 
Why do the women still wear head protectors? I thought they removed them because they decided they did more harm than good?
 
I dislike the new scoring system, much preferred the amateur style, where a proper landed punch in the scoring zone scores a point, rather than a round by round basis.
With only three rounds, win the first and you can clinch for two rounds to victory.
