Did anyone just see that match CONLAN Michael John v NIKITIN Vladimir?

The Irish lad just totally dominated the fight, and beat the Russian in all areas, but the judges gave it to the Russian. Was the clearest example of payed off judges ever, i guess the Russians figured if they cant win by doping they'll just do it through bribing.

Well he doesn't hold back in his interview afterwards. Won't post a link because it contains lots of swearing but he says what everyone is thinking.

Russia should've be banned from every sport.

Even the ref thought the IRL lad won it.

(off to search for that post fight interview :p)

Edit: he definitely speaks his mind

I hope so, its madness, just saw the repeat of it, the Russian looks like hes been ran over by a bus. Conlan didnt have a mark on him.

Surely the IOC and Seb Coe will review this and overrule? They should watch the footage like they do on rogue traders and re-assess the scoring punch by punch.

Then they should punch the judges and kick them out.

It would appear the dodgy judges from the two wrong decision fights have been sent home, and will take no further part in this contest.
The amateur authority said they will likely take Conlon to court if he can't produce evidence of corruption.
They stated some fights decisions did not come up to standard.

The results, althought not uo to standard, therefore wrong, will stand.

That would seem like a rather silly course of action by AIBA if they follow through and will do their credibility no good whatsoever. If Michael Conlon was wronged (and admitting some decisions were not up to standard is arguably confirming that) then suing him isn't going to right that wrong, it'll just make them look a bit vindictive.

Conlon's comments were injudicious certainly but I think it's probably sensible to cut him some slack when he (probably rightly) feels pretty hard done by.
